I found the line "But what may well be more important for her evolution is the political maturity that she is bound to gain from interacting closely with the Left Front as well as other regional parties." pretty amusing to say the least.
What political maturity did MMS, Sonia, and for that matter Somnath Chatterji get from such close interactions with the left parties? Did they not decide to go their own way?
Mayawati is fiercely independent, and self-centreed person. She is highly ambitious, and not very clean. She is ruthless in her handling of her partners, and even her mentor could not escape from her clutches.
Karat and Bardhan have sold the identity of CPI(M) and CPI to her and now for many the "M" in CPI(M) means Mayawati, not Marx. If the nuke deal did nuke anything it was Marx! Karat, Yechury, and Bardhan will have a lot to answer for making CPI(Mayawati) a reality.

The power relationship b/w MMS, SONIA WITH Left is and will be quite different from what Mayawati and Reds will share.The scope for learning is much more with mayawati THAN ANYONE ELSE.

How Mayawati's ambition is more fiercier than Advani or Modi or Lalu ??
Mayawati is confident because she know her vote bank will not move whether she get into alliance with SP or BJP or Left. Though she managed to transfer BJP's vote bank.
No party can run without money. BSP is no exception.
How Karat and Bardhan sold their identity ?? Left is one party who inspite of 60 MP sits outside govt. Unlike BJP's MP They can't be lured by money.
They are people with strong idelogy which is missing in most other party. Only problem I see in them is their hatred for US and their support of China in India CHina war. Left should understan that when Communist China can do business with US why can't India.

I dont know waht this crap was thinking while writing this article, does he has any project to be passed from the UP govt sorry I mean does he needs something from the Bhangan (Mayashitty). I see this article as all praise for that Chor does she has a kind of character to represent India on the world stage, she could just separate or divide the whole country based on caste. I guess thiswriter is just blind and a hardcore supporter of Bhangan or may be he got paid to write a book on her. If and when that happens she becomes a PM (disastrous) whole India will be filled with her statues, some statues besides Ambedkar some besides Mahatma Gandhi and may be some besides Shivaji and she would utilise her whole tenure of years in erecting her statues in all over India. This just sounds like a Nightmare and so is this article. There are many dalit leaders that i have seen but i havent seen such a Bhangan Dalit leader who in name of caste is using the poor people to increase her assets and Bank balances. I she would have been true leader of the Dalits she would have used some part of her money for the benefit of the poor people but taking in to account the kind of Bhangan persona she has it would be a sin even of thinking that she would do something like that. Rediff I guess you guys are also a peice of crap that's the reason you posted such an article maintain some credibility and check the articles that are posted.

I understand y9our anger, I also don't want to see Mayawati in nay official position let alone PM post.
But she is a reality which can not be ignored. I am from UP and know she (as well as Mulayam) are capable to get the PM post using dirty politics. They are not able administrator or good people BUT that is not the qualification to become PM, right?
I am sure we will see Maya or Mulayam or both as PM in next 10 years.
Mayavati belongs to a land owning jatav community, at par with Jats in doab area (UP)> Simply because, a community succeeded in including its naem in SC list does not mean, it is a 'deprived community'.
Mayawati's dream of being the Prime Minister will always remain just a maya - an illusion. She better stop day dreaming and take up some other occupation. Mayawati's biographer cannot be expected to write any different. The fact of the matter is the discredited LEFT leaders like Karat, Bardhan etc. and other left outs like DevGauda, Ajit Singh etc. are now trying to piggyback on another likely power centre and use her to once again prop themselves up at the centre stage only to create instability. The LEFT, without any stake in the govt. are going to be the single biggest destabilizes in the next general election. The best stable political alignment will be complete polarization and getting majority by either of the two blocks –one block led by Congress/UPA/SP and the other led by BJP/NDA . Jaya, Naidu, Chautala etc. may join NDA.. Given her limited influence in UP(20 seats max.) and the fact that the LEFT(40 seats) and the other smaller parties/ Independents(40 seats) supporting her are also similar Regional forces, any ruling front with Mayawati as the PM cannot be formed without the support of either of the above two blocks. It will be better for Mayawati to join one of the two blocks to widen her base beyond U.P. and bid for her time. Undoubtedly she is a competent administrator, but she must not hurry. The LEFT and the other smaller parties now supporting her are like the rolling stones not gathering any moss.
This is the mass appeal of this so called Dalit ki Beti ... rest are just Chalit ki Beti Beta ... Her Dalit tag has become synonymous to Dal Lit = Make Parties on the name of Dalit!
