RE:There is a difference between entrapment and sting operation.
by Manoj M on Jul 24, 2008 01:07 PM  Permalink
Well, they are doing the samething what Congress did to them during Tehelka. They are giving it back. You have a problem with it? Both BJP & Congress are hypocrites. You had any doubts over this?

The happiest thing is that a lot of paid writers who praise Somda were the abusers when BJP and Congress MPs were expelled after Sting operations like Cash for Query and corruption in MP fund.

For once you are right. Your Som da is an ass & so are the rest of you communists. It's a mistaken belief that Somnath chatterjee did this for his job etc. It's all about the chair. He spent the better part of his life trying to be in chair & when somebody asks him to quit, he decides to revolt.

Carry on up the mountain, Mr Chatterjee
by sesame on Jul 24, 2008 12:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I find Dadaji's actions worthy of a Bharat Ratna. He put the nations's interest before that of himself or that of his party. Furthermore, he expressed his point of view on the reprehensible actions of the Left Combine not through words, but through his actions. The way in which Karat @Co. went about trying to pull down the government that they had been supporting till the day before was utterly unbecoming of the Left. They seemed to have been consumed by their disproportionate influence on the government of the day, forgetting in the process that they only represent a very small proportion of India's population. The right thing to do would have been to withdraw support and wait for the BJP as the party of opposition to bring down the government. Instead, the Left tried to destabilise the government and even the constitutional system thus showing their true colours.
To paraphrase, the Prime Minister, the Left should do some serious introspection. They have the potential to fill the intellectual vacuum in Indian politics if only they could analyse issues on merits instead of through an outdated and irrelevant ideological prism.
It makes absolutely no sense to shoot the messenger, ie. Mr. Somnath

This guy was totally biased always. He was always a communist, just the love for the chair won the day over his communist beliefs. There's nothing great about this man. He was willing to vote with the communists provided the pulled the plug after his Malaysia trip.

Already 80!
by Shyam on Jul 24, 2008 12:47 PM  Permalink

This man is already 80 and claims to have been a Commie from his early childhood. He neither has the quality of a commie nor has the maturity of an 80 year old man. He is so greedy that to stick to his seat which he got after so many years of political experience and being sure he would not once again get a chance, he is giving all sorts of nonsense excuses for not resigning from Speakership. Only last week, this man was in Hyderabad undergoing eye operation for himself at government's cost - as if there are no hospitals in Delhi or Kolkata.

Even when acting as Speaker he could hardly run the show properly in any session compared to his predecessors. Most of the time he was only adjourning the house - short, moderate or long. Now he wants to become the President of India.

Imagine, if he becomes the President and by chance BJP becomes the ruling party, he would not agree with even a single issue giving excuse that he is against BJP and would not agree with them on any issue - right or wrong! He is fit to be rendered to graves at the earliest.

Let some younger, dynamic and unbiased person lead the country.

Its a perfect decision
by Kumar Akash on Jul 24, 2008 12:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Somnath Chattergee left no other option than to be expelled after denying to step down as he went against the party line.
Being a speaker came into the existence due to CPM, not due to his personal stature. Hence hw can he consider himself apart from the party and if he wanted to behave this way, it was perfect decision to make him feel more independent
