Communists are not anti-development.

They prefer to chose pro-Poor policies ver Pro-Rich policies

Riches set up industies, not poors. So Communists can be mistaken for anti-development. But in reality, they are pro- development

Somath's Defiance Inspired MPs to Cross Vote
by outspoken on Jul 24, 2008 05:42 PM  Permalink

In the cash for MPs episode and UPA wining Trust vote by cross voting had its inspiration from the Speaker himself. He played a model by defying his party and keeping his powerful chair and the MPs succumbed to secret allurements to cross vote. It was Somnath who degraded the Parliament by showing his naked lust for power.

On Somanth Chattererji
by Anil Bharali on Jul 24, 2008 05:39 PM  Permalink

It is nota desired news to accept easily that Somnathji faces expulsion. It is victory of strategy against left parties" ideology wihin N deal.To me,it is not that their stand is wrong , but because of left parties' failure to evolve a right strategy in a right manner and wisdom required in indian democratic polity. In totality leftleadership is also equally responsible for it because they fail to block the deal inspite of definite possibility as PM mentioned as mitake in calculation of timing. So they couldnot block the N deal. The secular unity they had defended for last fouryears couldnot be of right use in future.Leftleaedrship must think seriouly "is there any lacking in their part ?

Somnath's Expulsion - Mr. Karat you were wrong.
by jamsheed abumohammed on Jul 24, 2008 05:33 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The veteran Marxist Leader and Speaker of the Parliament,Somnath Chatterjee was expelled from the party according to Karat,Party GS, "it was not a happy thing to do". He defied party decision to resign and continued to function as Speaker much to the embarrassment of the Party. No body in the party except Joyoti Basu could appreciate the stand taken by Somnath, no to vote along with BJP,a communal outfit, whom CPI(M) has been opposing since inception. This according to him was a principled stand and no body could alter it. Particularly when he was continuing as Speaker, his expulsion from the party was totally illogical besides questionable. For all practical purposes, he ceases to be party member as long as he continues to hold the constitutional position. If Party has waited till August 12, the date on which he promised to put in his papers. His expulsion from the party thereafter would not have raised any eyebrows. Why Karat was in hurry to expel him from the Party, is a mystery. The reasons may be many. One of them being that Somanth's constituency has been delimited and reserved for SC. So there is no chance his seeking re-election apart from his age. That may be the reason for him to defy the party, insider say. But for a veteral like him, the lure of office would not force him to quit the post and whatever he did was on the principled stand taken by him.It was that of not to vote along with the communal BJP that would have sent wrong signal to Muslim voters. He was right.

CPM has not been opposed to BJP since inception. In fact, they all were together till 1993, in some form of alliance or the other. Remember Janata Party Govt., V P Singh Govt. etc.?? CPM is an opportunist. They consider BJP communal but not Muslim League, SIMI and MIM. You being a muslim, will naturally say bJP is communal but not Muslim Leagure or MIM or SIMI.

Mr. Karat - is a snob and he has no mass base. Why he did not utter a word agaisnst China with regard to their claim for Arunachal but prompt enough to say Tibet is an intrgral part of China ! No link with USA but their money or trade with them is welcome. He and his party is realy a bunch of hypocretes! Mr. Chatterjee was absolutely right in his decision.

I support Karat for making such a bold move! China, my dear friend, needs no Indian agent. US needs India to spread its business. The US has its largest debt to China. So US badly needs agents in the upper echelons of Indian politics to push its reactors and machineries. Thank God! The US has no dearth of willing agents from the subcontinent! This reminds me of the Latin American experience. In the 1960s and 1970s, the continent went through similar Americanisation through forward agencies. Now see what's happening there. One after another country electing leftwing leaders who were not even known ten years ago. India may, I am not saying will, go the same way in the next couple of decades.

Leftists are chamchas of CHINA
by KS MSundaram on Jul 24, 2008 05:30 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The leftists are nothin but CHAMCHAS of CHINA. Left to them, they would recall the army from the border and enable China to invade our nation and occupy our territories. After all, wasnt it the leftists who supported the Chinese invasion of India in 1962.

COMMUNISM is dead in the country where it started i.e. RUSSIA and our Indian comrades are still swearing by the names of LENIN and STALIN.

Also any day COMMUNALSIM is much better than COMMUNISM. People like Jyoti Basu are hypocrites. They have ruined WEST BENGAl industrially, yet Jyoti Basu's son Chandan Basu has made lots of money as an enterpreneur courtesy Dad's influence. Communists are shameless, worthless, good-for-nothing imbeciles.

Very well said. Also, they have made Tripura and West Bengal a haven for terrorists by encouraging infiltration from Bangladesh
