No need for Foreign Minister
by chandra nisankara on Jul 23, 2008 01:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Now that the UPA has gone ahead with the deal,
India no longer needs an External Affairs Minister
once the deal is operationalised. This is due
to the Hyde Act which required the US President
to certify to Congress every year that India's
foreign policy is congruent with that of the
United States foreign policy. As they are deciding what our foreign policy should be,
why have an external affairs ministry, indian
embassies around the world, etc. We can post
an IFS office to each and every American Embassy
as he will report to the American Ambassador.

character of the commies
by kallol mukherjee on Jul 23, 2008 01:19 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I belong to west bengal which is ruled by the the communist since 1977.If you compare the integrity of the true communist with their counterparts in congress, rjd, bjp.sp or bsp ,they are far better. The way budhadeb lead his life it becomes difficult to make out if he is the chief minister or a middleclass bengali.
But the problem lies in their vision,in their outlook ,which is serious hindrance to any developmental projects. Just like BJP feels they are the sole torchbearer of patriotism ,simmilarly the communist feel that they are the true representative of the under privileged. If you compare bengal with maharashtra, gujrat.tamilnadu karnataka in economic or social parameters you will realise that they are basically theorist and their actual contribution is big zero.
I have seen their crab mentality when they used to oppose computerisation in eighties and now buddhadeb is trying his level best to attract investment in IT SECTOR.The same will hold good for nucleur deal when after twenty years they will say that we have committed a historic blunder

You seem right to good extent. Theory and appearance alone will not help. What common man needs is growth and one should not be left behind the others in growth. We cannot keep our eyes closed to world-wide growth and ever-changing world demands change in us to keep pace with it. If we cannot change, we should atleast let others change for better.

It takes 7-10 years to create or build a Communist. But after that, you cannot change him or reform him till he goes to the grave.

A fundamental concept of the ideology itself is that "It is the only way" to solve all the world's problems. With such a myopic view, they are always completely blind to any alternatives.

Chandrababu Naidu is out of sync...
by Demo-crazy on Jul 23, 2008 01:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

He went away from NDA thinking Muslims will love him now and vote for him. He went with Mulayam, the so called true secular, anti-Congress mascot, and messiah of Muslims. Look what happened! Mulayam, and many Muslim parties stood by the deal protesting it being termed anti-muslim or anti-progress.

Mayawati, and the secular communist brigade (but real communal group in the garb of seculars!) thought they could make the deal look anti-Muslim and trapped parties like TDP, TRS, and JD-S with them.

It seems Naidu has lost touch with reality and should find the going tough in the next elections too. We may expect more desertions from his party soon. Mayawati could also lose out the support those she weaned away since they are not going to be anywhere near the corridors of power after the next elections.

NDA will find the breakup of UPA, UNPA to its advantage. Expect the mature elements of these groups to move over to NDA. It would be fun to watch what arguments will the communists propose to work with Congress once again if they find them in striking distance of power in next election.

chandrababu naidu is a fool.last time he tried to project jayalalitha as future P M and now he is trying to project Mayawati as future P M.
he was with NDA before.suddently he thought of gaining muslims votes and christians votes in
andhra becouse he was punished for his misdeeds by lord venkateswara in a bomb blast which
injured him slightly in hand.this made him switch his loyality towards allah suddently.
his party lady wing is headed by roja, cine actress becouse naidu believe only lady power
and cine actors.once chiranjivi comes to political field in aug 08,naidu will be wiped out as chiranjivi might join in alliance with bjp and telengana party of chandrasekra rao.

Naidu please do not get desperate. Tricks will not work every time. It is YSR time in AP and it will also not go for very long time. You have anticipated TDP will come back automatically in next term like it did in 1994. Unfortunately time will not repeat same way every time. Digest hard realities and focus on the pockets where you are strong and retain your strength.

Better advise naidu to change his astroleger and rest so that he will become PM one day. He is working as a labour not a leader who has the potency to rule.

No need to change astrologer. He need to find a new father-in-law who can become the CM, then de-throne him unceremoniously, usurp the chair, preach all great things. Wrong doings don't go unnoticed, by GOD. Now he (CB Naidu) should understand the pain late NTR would have felt when Chandrababu Naidu ditched him for power.

Pls ask Naidu to stay in New Delhi only for another month as it is raining(Scattered) in Andhra Pradesh for the last 4days. If he stays another month there all the reservoirs will be full and there will not be any Water or Electricity problem in AP for another year.

Everyone will have some good time in their life and during that period people will call him Chanakya, King Maker etc. Naidu should reailse that golden period in his life is over and he need scale down or wait for appropriate time.

Naidu should stop dreaming and digest hard realities and facts before him. Sooner he realizes better he can servive in politics even with a smaller faction for longer period of time.

No to All
by deepak bhanot on Jul 23, 2008 01:04 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its high time that we all, so called common men, unbound ourselves from the party affinities and start a revolution to clean up the political scenario of the country. We all know that money changed hands for the yesterday's show. Is it what we voted for? The dignity of the PM's chair is in questions? Do we all want to be ruled by people who would do anything to be in power? Why are we all wasting our energies in discussing the current political outfits? In my opinion, none of the current political establishments are fit to rule us. Trust in yourself because its should be not them who rule rather us as we are their employers.

I like the patriotic flavor and a true citizen's concern in your words.

Do you for once believe Mayawati is a better PM than MMS? It was a shame that TDP,TRS, and communists considered this lady worthy of this post. A Dalit PM is definitely welcome, but not Mayawati. We want someone of real stature and capabilities. Dr. Ambedkar would have been ideal choice after Sardar Patel. Unfortunately, we could see either of them as PMs.

Some amount of murkiness in this confidence vote has happened. Those caught inducing the MPs(if proved in court) should be punished. We know what happened when JMM MPs were caught while bailing out PVN government. The Congress is an expert in managing this kind of deal (a huge experience of over 50 years in governing!). The BJP was dumb in this matter earlier so you saw Bangaru Laxman, Jaya Jaitley of JD-U, and some other MPs (in cash for questions case) getting caught for peanuts.
