All those capitalist gentlemen in the media , printed and electronic , who were revelling in inventing new phrases to malign Karat and praise MMS should answer one question: where is this Congress taking Indian democracy to ? Those who boast of Indian or American or British democracies glibly forget one thing : when the ruling capitalist class are defenceless and cornered, they flout all rules and save the situation with money, muscle or gun powder. In India we saw it in the early 1990s. Narasimha Rao got out of bribe case narrowly on technical grounds, though the entire country knew he had bribed the JMM. In Kerala and so many other states Congress has dismissed state govts, at their sweet will not caring a fig for democratic decency. Can we count the number of democratically elected govts. toppled by the CIA in bloody coups ? We now see capitalism playing greater havoc by undermining Indian people’s will with money.
I repeat, MMS and his friends are the greatest abettors of Naxallits and Maoists.

You talk in the language of the cold war. Marxism/socialism/communism are dead ideologies and communists are widely seen as power hungry monsters. Any government at the centre will have to further market oriented reforms in order to feed over a billion people. Otherwise, we will all become like PSU/government employees: incompetent, rude, lazy and corrupt.

What happened in Parliament is not a fight between Capitalism and Marism or semantics. This is shameful that MPs did not vote on an important issue but they were lured into it by money changing hands. As for the Deal the people are in the dark. When shall cross the break-even? What is the cost-benefit ratio, say in terms of next 5 years? What will be India's position vis-a-vis China? Do you know that US did some evesdropping on India from the Chines soil? Will the US back India against China or Pakistan, considering that the US foreign policy is always steeped in double standards?
Mr. Manmohan Singh : We always admired him being the economist, The FM, The reformer of Indian economy , perhaps in the role of PM too but the way the whole episode of winning trust vote happened, it really cast a shadow on his integrity as a leader of high repute .
It is disgusting to see the leaders who forsee and try to portray a India with nuclear energy becomes the criminal in their own to kill the democratic fabric of INDIA.
We would have trust him and loved him had he resigned from his post in support of the deal and not to fall prey to the connivance act of taking support of criminals and to be party to all immoral act of taking support. It really shocked us to see the leaders sitting next to the dreaded criminals and convicted and sentenced by apex court of India.
We were always told of political criminal nexus behind the scene but never does we realised that fact as it was happening all in the sacrosanct temple of Indian parliament .
I am unable to tell my school going child the story and moral value and ethics to be followed as the very soul of Indians is teared apart. The top so called leaders and trying to be representative of India's present and future made mockery of its power by their act of shamelessness.
The Present power duo of Manmohan (I really don't feel like adding Mr. or the respect I had for this person ) and Sonia could have set the benchmark by winning the moral victory by setting high standards of uprightness and ethics in proc

You are right. Even Advani's supporters feel he has made a great mistake in opposing the nuclear deal. Perhaps he realises it too. In his speech, he did not lay much stress on the nuclear deal. I think the BJP should look for a new leader.

Congratulations to the person who said "Minorities, particularly the Muslims, have first right over the national resources" ... this, along with Amarnath, is a great win for minorities in 'secular' India!
great Drama enacted by LKA and MMS.It was planned that BJP will put up token resistance and ensure abstentions. Both Maino and LKA are afraid of Maya hence they will collude for next 9 moths and then put Maya behind bars and then fight loksabha elections. Finally it will be MMS Vs.LKA in parliament

You have a point. But it will be difficult to stop Mayawati. In any case, it takes for ever to put anyone behind bars in India.
So who to believe what the price is? CPI says Rs 25 crores. BJP even claimed Rs 100 crores. Yet in the drama enacted by BJP, only Rs 1 crore was displayed.
So when a Congress MP defects to BJP - knickerwallahs say no bribes.
When a SP MP defects to BSP, the Commies say no bribe. When Siddique defected to BSP, again no bribe.
When JDS and Lok Dal defects to UNPA, both commies and knickerwallahs rub their hands in glee and say no bribes.
Only when a BJP MP defects to Congress party, then BJP & CPM join together to crow "Bribes, bribes"
Commies and Knickerwallahs should know that two can play any game.
Once the cross-voting pattern comes out, it will be seen that there was equal defection from the UPA to the opposition as the UPA started their floor strength at 275
