CONFIDENCE VOTE DISCUSSION
by subhash bhatnagar on Jul 23, 2008 06:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

On some occassions like the confidence vote discussion in Lok Sabha people really see the TV live , I was one of them, but felt disappointed as No speaker was able to disect the agreement clauses which they were thinking harmful to the national interest At last I remained as poor in knowledge about the agreement except some very funny moments some unparliamentry behaviour , out of context subjects , etc . I t is the duty of members to enlighten us about the real cause but every one failed.
The level of discussion and the behaviour was so low that sometimes I was wondering that I know better than the el;ected members .
Yes the democracy has now gone to dogs

Nobody is interested in investigating the corruption
by TeraBaap on Jul 23, 2008 06:25 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When the cash for question scandal appeared, speaker and PM both said, its a sad day and they couldn't sleep but when BJP given some proof and asked for immmediate and complete investigation. Speaker Somnath's reaction was very mute. Congress is obviously not interested in investigation and checking that its caught on tape. Lot of people on this forum also want to exacapist rather facing the truth that money changed hand and 20 people who abstained has been approached and cross voting is being done by all the sheddy opposition parliamentarian for money. With this kind of impaired visio, we the people will suffer for giving selective clean chit to Congress and will legitimize corruption.

Unfortunately every party tried to do same thing BJP in Karnataka, BSP, SP, Cong.... We don't have parties which have clean record... Even if anyone starts, we won't vote them... Result is we have to live with these parties which try to stay in power by hook or crook...

Lessons for U

We understand. It is nice that you are learning.
What we don't understand is your insistance on displaying the understanding of bigger picure.

As Lalu said, Murdabad ke nare se roti nahi milti. Usi tarah is trah ki writing se journalist nahi ban sakte. Uske liye chahiye pura abhyas aur 'impartial' vision.

True spirit of democracy
by pradeep ray on Jul 23, 2008 06:10 PM  Permalink

Fractured mandate, allliance of parties having different ideologies, horse trading, cross voting, corruption, etc. are not in the true spirit of democracy.

22nd July, 2008 was the mockery of democracy. Future will repeat such mistake unless and until there will be a political reform.

So, what do we do from today?
by R Bose on Jul 23, 2008 06:09 PM  Permalink

Don't worry, Mr. Prasad. The electronic 'fast food' medai will find something - even if it is the 24-hour high voltage live coverage of a child in a well. They have found one, any way, if you did not notice! Mr. Somenath Chatterjee has been expelled by the CP(M). Just wait for the next 'breaking news'. There is always one for the elctronic media every 6 hours in India.
