Totally agree, rahul was a lame duck.
His speech was too simple, absolutely dull, thoroughly lacking in substance and vision.
It clearly showed what kind of a leader he is.Dread the possibiliy that he might be PM.

GOD SANE INDIA.

Irony
by Prateek Jain on Jul 24, 2008 01:05 PM  Permalink

After a long long time have I read a good article. It is so sad that even a decision which will have permanent effects on the future of this country and it's 1 billion inhabitants was treated so shabbily and with such disdain. It is a pity that not even one politician stood up and asked for the madness to end.
We have a truck-load of politicians but not a single leader. What irony.

didn't u ever heard about narsimha rao, balraam jakhad, JMM leaders, 1993 bribe case. That had happened in close n dark rooms. But this time all of us seen it naked eyed n live. some good ppl showed the courage to uncover these illdeeds but what abt those who accepted this huge amount of money and voted for the government. They'd have taken very large amount of money. Hence this illmanaged victory.

Corruption is well accpeted among Indians
by Sanjeev Singh on Jul 24, 2008 11:31 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The way media has reacted to the cash scam in the recent trust vote -It seems Indians have accpetd corruption, bribe as means to reach the end. Now it doesnt crete hysteria that it would have 20 years ago. Everyone is looking for 'Jugad' to get the work done and most like the corrupt system. Thats why we Indians are again talking as party representatives- COngress supporters -see it as Advani Nautanki; BJP - congress style functionning (JMM scandal, Ajit jogi scandal). But no one is saying that use of money makes legitimises bribes at lowest level - No wonder we like to live in 'Notecracy'. People are saying -why didnt got to police, should have complained- we all know how police functions including CBI, by the time the verdict will come -half of the current neta is dead... the culprit in JMM scnadal is coal minsiter , his son deputy CM of Jharkhand- we all accpet it becuase we know -Ghus do kaam ho jayega...our morality and value systems has declined. And Corruption is the new found religion --Thanks its secular...

MORON ILLGEL SHOOT THEIR MOUTH
by ashok kumar on Jul 24, 2008 11:31 AM  Permalink

F the money can buy the lawmakers (MPs) --the law executers are small fry comparatively to be bought out at less amount, including IB and CBI and judges, with promises of powerful positions.

In the next year the current power bearers will rob the Indian treasury 10 folds over. So it is a wise investment.

ALL the BS in the present environment for nuclear deal is nothing more than political and money kickbacks and extremely shortsighted for India' welfare. The NEXT US government would have fought it more aggressively to look better than Bush's term. BE it Obama or McCain. $100 Billion is on the table.

A strategic alignment with USA is natural, it had to happen, regardless of Indira's fallout with Nixon/Kissinger. Congress had NO reason to be dictated terms by USA.

AS a PM I would have USA support India's seat as a permanent seat on UN security council, member of nuclear weapon state, and last but least equal member of G8 plus.

BUT alas you and me are stuck with corrupt politicians from Nehru downwards. They will sell their mother for money and power so to sell out Bharat Mata is NOT a surprise.

A revolution is not far away once the literacy level rises. Which it will. The NRIs are going to play a very important in this.

The NRIs MUST be allowed to vote. Dual citizen will allow this. NOT a PIO card to pay exhortation's fees just to visit India.

NRIs and their relatives and professional associates talk the same talk but unfortunately stay away from the "dirty" pol
