may be he has record of good parliamentarian,he had been in the party for 40 yrs bt he had a taste of power and after enjoying the privledges of speaker he had become non-communist so much so that he had violated openly and supported congress and he complains that his party is voting alongwith BJP, what a standard of a speaker great, salute to this communist????

Poor Somnath Chatterjee
by basant jaitly on Jul 23, 2008 09:54 PM  Permalink

CPI(M)has no face to show. The moment the party decided to stand with BJP & BSP it became clear that they also lack character. They too are not bothered about National interests like other political parties. They talk about poverty & price rise but what have they done in the states
that are ruled by them. How can they forget anti
people stand they took in Nandigram & then blame the government for taking anti people stance? In fact all the leaders are power hungry. The majority in all political Parties is indisciplined & corrupt. I am reminded of the dictum of Lord Acton who had said that power corrupts & absolute power corrupts absolutely but could not imagine the level of corruption. Now I understand how low can all of them stoop to conquer. What is wrong if the speaker decides to be neutral? He is elected for this purpose only. May be in case of a tie he may have as per his party guide lines but that did happen. In fact the Congress managed every thing by fair & foul means to it's advantage. This is what others were also trying to do but failed. Now why blame Somanath Chatterjee for this?Mr.Karat & others are now trying to find a scapegoat. Yesterday the behaviour of our Parliamentarians
was bizarre & shameful. As a teacher I can vouch
that our college & university students behave more responsibly in the meetings
of the student union & it's election.Do we need such leaders to run our Nation?I do not wish to talk for or against the nuclear deal I only wish to say it is Disgusting

LEFT is great :- Again proved
by praful nikam on Jul 23, 2008 09:53 PM  Permalink

Today LEFT said on Expeling of Somanath that"Somnath Chatterjee might have acted according to the Indian Constitution, but our party has its own constitution and decisions are taken as per party rules," which means party constitution is above INDIAN constitution so they expelied him from party.
Again LEFT prooved they dont have any faith in INDIA and Indian constitution so why they cry for foule play in trust vote; congress also can say we have our own constitution...
LEFT must take in MIND now one here is above country and country LAW

Somnath has been the most efficient and respectable not only as speaker of LOK SABHA but also a Member of Parliament. He was elected for 10 times as MP which itself shows him as a true leader in a democracy. Also, he had considered the post of Speaker most sacred and held it higher above cheap party politics.Persons like him are rare in Indian Politics today and the need of hour is we need MPs like him who think above party lines and think in the interest of nation and act in same fashion.

Mr Somnath Chatterjee's expulsion
by Pradipta Mukherjee on Jul 23, 2008 09:48 PM  Permalink

CPIM as a party has been a mess in west bengal, could give the state no head start in terms of economic development.Whenever you visit Calcutta, the most common sites are party offices on every by lane with so called cadres sitting and wasting their time doing nothing. However whenever the time comes they do come to your house asking for donations.
It doesnt surprise me that left keeps their ideologies at an upper priority than the country. They have been always like that and have no back bone. They can neither come into power nor can they ever gel with a government.
According to me Mr Somnath Chatterjee has done the right thing in not going with the left. I congratulate Mr Chatterjee to be one of the indirect facilitators to win the trust vote. The nuclear deal should go on

CHOMNATH DHAA-TRUE FACE.
by nishu kutty on Jul 23, 2008 09:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

SOMNATH CHATERJEE IS NEITHER A GREAT POLITICIAN NOR GOOD PARLIAMENTARIAN AS EVERYBODY BELIEVE.
LETS US NOT FORGET THAT HE FOUGHT FOR SAURAV GANGULI’S INCLUSION INTO THE INDIAN TEAM AS A BENGALI, EVEN A LALLOO PRASAD WILL NOT DO.
HE ALSO GOT A SLAP FROM CHAPPEL, THE EX-INDIAN COACH, TO MATTER HIS OWN BUSINESS IN PARLIAMENT RATHER THAN INTERFERING WITH INDIAN CRICKET SELECTION POLICIES FOR WHICH “SOMNATH THE GREAT” CRIED.
HE IS THE MOST PARTISAN SPEAKER TO HAVE ADORNED THE POST AND A CHEAPEST POLITICIAN. HIS INDICATION TO HIS PARTY THAT HE CANNOT BE SEEN VOTING WITH THE BJP (IMPARTIAL SPEAKER????) IS HIS REAL FACE.
NO SPEAKER IN THE LAST 15-20 YEARS HAS BEHAVED AS CHEAPER AS THIS PERSON.
BUT, NOW HE IS ACTING TO BE A GREAT POLITICIAN WHICH THE NEWS CHANNELS CHEAPLY POTRAY AND SUPER DUPER PERSONS ACKNOWLEDGE.

expulsion of chatterjee
by hafis saif on Jul 23, 2008 09:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

CPM has taken the right decision by expelling Somnath Chatterjee and sent the message that nobody is above the party.Somnath Chatterjee is Somnath Chatterjee only because of the party and he should not have disobeyed the party after enjoying the positions and status extended by the party.

Rather CPIM party is CPIM party today because of leaders like Somnath Chatterjee, Jyoti Basu etc. Not because of Karat and Yechuri, who never contested an election but decides everything.
