5 out of 3 BJP MPs from Karnataka
by brutally honest on Jul 23, 2008 06:28 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Out of 5 MPs who cross-voted 3 are from Karnataka and one more abstained from voting. I don't think this is just coincidence.
What is the story here?

Money was real winner
by Raj on Jul 23, 2008 06:21 AM  Permalink

Once foreign nations plan something they execute it with perfection. Minorities have suffered a lot during 61 years of Independence. They don't give them jobs. Out of ten thousand sometimes its hard to even one from minorities in a public department So almighty has decided to take away this freedom for many centuries to come. Maybe some MPs made so much money they never dreamt about it.

New era will bring justice to minorities though foreign rule at least they are less corrupt than our politicians.

I THINK IT IS FRUSTRATION DUE TO WHICH SOME PEOPLE ARE ACCUSING THAT GUJARAT CONGRESS LEADER AHMED PATEL IS INVOLVED IN THE HORSE TRADING. HE HAS CHALLENGED TO PROVE THAT HE HAS GIVE BRIBE ETC.TO ANY BODY. HE EVEN SAID HE WILL RESIGN IF PROVEN GUILTY. OTHERWISE THOSE CULPRIT SHOULD APOLOGISE. HE IS THE MOST HONEST CONGHRRESS WORKER IN THE COUNTRY TODAY.

All say like this. No onus is on govt to find out that from where the money came whether arranged by BJP or Congress. If MMS cannot get it done then it will prove that he was involved. He has the whole investigating agencies in his command.

Moreover body language of Patel and Amar Singh was a proof that they are caught red handed

Kalam (our hero) said something good ... doesn't make the deal great
by SKS on Jul 23, 2008 06:02 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There lies the problem. if someone people think a hero (even Shahrukh Khan) says something, everyone starts believing him without even thinking anything about it. I agree Kalam has good knowledge on some of the things, but he's not a nuclear scientist. Most of the indian scientist (they of course know much more about nuclear technology than Kalam) world over have serious doubts about the viability of this deal. Until unless those concerns are addressed, the deal will create more problems than it will solve.

How much power will be generated through nuclear technology? How much will it cost? Who will provide the technology? What about the environmental effect, how the nuclear waste is going to be handled? What if the US decides to stop supplying raw materials and technology? etc. I think Govt. should have taken the scientists opinions on these issues before even thinking about the deal. There is no point in getting some unsubstantiated data from unknown source to answer these questions. We just need scientists to debate extensively on this. In stead, the Govt. has used unscrupulous means to stay on the power and push the deal. I can say for sure, it is a black day for democracy.

This deal is also supported by Dr. Anil Kakodkar the current chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India. I think he's more qualified than you.
With other sources of energy running out (coal, oil etc.) Nuclear energy is the only viable option. Many countries like France get 70% of their power from Nuclear energy (that's almost three times what we generate on whole in India).
Solar and wind power are unreliable and nature-dependent.
There are not many places in India where one could set up a hydel plans. The places where we can is usually occupied by the likes of Medha Patkar.

It is immaterial whether I have more knowledge or Dr. Anil. The fact is there are more knowledgeable scientists who feel this deal is not good for india. But, in any case, we need answers for the above questions from some reliable source.

In France 70% of ELECTRICAL energy, (NOT total energy) is through nuclear energy. So, please don't try to distort any fact. I don't really how much % of total energy will that be. But, just comparing and immitating other countries will not solve our problems.

u r correct. 99.9% of educated Indian is of weak mind. They might have acquired the degrees but have very little intellect that is why u will find mostly they give logics which are being spread by media!

Such situation suits to market also. Market lie weak minded people so that they cn be influence easily. None of us thinks that Kalam might be a knowledgeble person but that does not mean that whatever he says or thinks is Bible or Quran!

I have read many comments on rediff where readers say that MMS is a very learned person, very honest so he cannot do anything wrong. Such argument or way of thinking is very dangerous
