They must think that nobody reads the Scriptures. I do not have the Kamba Ramayana, but I have the Padma puranas. Lord Rama"s return is described in the Patala-khanda. And it does NOT say anything that remotely suggests that Sri Rama ordered the destruction of the setu.
In any case, the Kamba Ramayana is a relatively recent book, written in Tamil by Kampan, who lived in the 12th century. It is well-known that he took many liberties with the original. It is easy to see why the Congress cites this book as proof.
It all seems ridiculous. First Rama was a fiction, and now this. Congress comes up with these arguments only to hurt Hindus and their sentiments. What else can it be? Why would Hindus still vote for this party?

If Ramayana is just a fiction, then The Bible, The Koran, Tora are all fictions as well. Would anyone wil try to have a motor way destroying St.Pauls in Rome, or Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem or Kaba in Mecca?? Let Christian Sonia Gandhi, Muslim Vice President Ansari, Sikh Slave Singh answer this.
"RAM SETU' IS A MATTER OF HINDU FAITH - POLITICALLY IT CANT BE DISTURBED! TO FOLLOW 'SECULARISM' HINDUS HAVE THE RIGHTS TO CLAIM FOR NO DISTURBANCE ON "RAMSETU"
Message to Nariman:- If that is the case of argument, then it has archaeological importance hence should not be disturbed at all. Now it appears, Cong will move ahead on this to pay back DMK.
RE:Nariman said.....according to Kamba Ramayana Lord Rama took a bow and broke the bridge and divided it into three parts...
