What Rajdeep is forgetting?
by rajendra kulkarni on Jul 24, 2008 09:37 AM  Permalink

Rajdeep is forgetting that his job as a journalist is to place the facts in front of the people and he can give caveats that the investigation is incomplete, he is a journalist, not a constitution protector. constitution also allows us a free press. despite whatever the consequences, he should have shown the tape to the people and let the people judge what is right and what is wrong, how creditable the evidence is. There is something fishy about this whole episode. Even the integrity of Rajdeep and his channel is at stake here. Some would say that the channel and its editors has been silenced by the govt by offering something the same way they won the trust vote.

HOW MUCH WERE YOU OFFERED OR RIGHT TO LIVE?
by ashok kumar on Jul 24, 2008 09:37 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

F the money can buy the lawmakers (MPs) --the law executers are small fry comparatively to be bought out at less amount, including IB and CBI and judges, with promises of powerful positions.

In the next year the current power bearers will rob the Indian treasury 10 folds over. So it is a wise investment.

ALL the BS in the present environment for nuclear deal is nothing more than political and money kickbacks and extremely shortsighted for India' welfare. The NEXT US government would have fought it more aggressively to look better than Bush's term. BE it Obama or McCain. $100 Billion is on the table.

A strategic alignment with USA is natural, it had to happen, regardless of Indira's fallout with Nixon/Kissinger. Congress had NO reason to be dictated terms by USA.

AS a PM I would have USA support India's seat as a permanent seat on UN security council, member of nuclear weapon state, and last but least equal member of G8 plus.

BUT alas you and me are stuck with corrupt politicians from Nehru downwards. They will sell their mother for money and power so to sell out Bharat Mata is NOT a surprise.

A revolution is not far away once the literacy level rises. Which it will. The NRIs are going to play a very important in this.

The NRIs MUST be allowed to vote. Dual citizen will allow this. NOT a PIO card to pay exhortation's fees just to visit India.

NRIs and their relatives and professional associates talk the same talk but unfortunately stay away from the "dirty" pol

If it was only gaining TRP for the channel, then Rajdeep surely could have aired the content.

I guess why he did not air for the following reasons :

1) The tehelka controversy must be in his mind. After thehelka, NDA crucified the journalists involved and ruined their personal and professional lives.

2) May be some portion of the content looked as if it was a "honey trap" set by these MP's.
[ This is my guess only.]

This must have created hesitation in his mind.

No Professional ethics followed by Media !
by AAMEC CHEMINEER on Jul 24, 2008 09:36 AM  Permalink

Now a days, Media is not the fourth pillar of a nation. Privately promoted TV channels always create hype and mystery to keep their viewership intact.

Most of the channels have political backup. There are five tamil channels which have political lineage from different political parties.

Is it good for a democracy where public still rely on TV for information?

by Arokiaraj J on Jul 24, 2008 09:36 AM  Permalink

What the mainstream visual media is doing for long is proven again. Rajdeep or Pranna roy are all anti -BJP that is well known.(I am also not infavour of NDA atleast for now). However teh satnd taken by Rajdeep is dubious because hehas not folllowed the same responcibility on other cases and will not in future if tehtapes show something against BJP and its allies.

Do not write stupid messages. In the parties you mentioned majority of its members and leaders are hindus. BJP and BSP also tried to win over the otherside but they failed.

Nanchil Thalaiva,

Hindus does not mean anything in the name it is there in the way you lead your life, The Guys who voted for Congress amy be Hindus by Name, but not at heart otherwise they will not support the Pope and Rome Party(Congress). Sonia Was implanted into India to convert the remaining Hindus, Her Daughter is married to a Christian, and His Son is already married in secret to a Roman Catholic Columbian.

Do you think the Politicans are Neutral on their views, NO, they can even kill thier own Mother and send her to Prostituion if they get some money out of it, and do you think the so called Hindu MPs from Congress and other parties except BJP will protect their religion compared to the Money they get, Amar Siungh kind of guys will sell this country to anybody if they get 20000 Crores. They are not selling it because nobody is giving that much money and less than that amount anyway they can make it otherways.

If you are not a Hindu, PLS do nto comment on this, if you are a Hindu PLS do not comment on this.

CNN-IBN
by Rajiv Shivashankar on Jul 24, 2008 09:32 AM  Permalink

CNN-IBN is known to be a channel sympathetic to the Congress like NDTV, where Rajdeep Sardesai worked earlier. I doubt if he would have been so circumspect and potically correct if he had found the BJP distributing money.
NDTV and CNN-IBN, it's bye-product, are channels not known for showing neutral coverage of happenings in India where the Congress may be at fault. Everyone carries a bias, but press cannot show it so openly.
Rajdeep, take the monkey off your shoulder. Be more accurate and dispassionate about news coverage.
