Atleast sleepy head could speak on any subject without reading from the script and knows what he speaks because his mind needs to think/re-think and ponder before speaking up without reading while a person reading from a prepared script doesnt know what he is reading, certainly dont have to think and definately not re-think!!

majority power or minority power
by Concept Manufacturing on Jul 22, 2008 01:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When we elected a majority party we had no clue that we will be ruled on the whims & fancies of minority parties with 1 to 3 seats who will emerge more important. So the real important people these days are minority , regional, small parties with 1 to 3 seats & some hardened criminal MP's in jail. So much to parliamentary democracy.

and we have ourselves to blame because most voters are into regional parties without realising the harm it causes to the country. So now we are in a situation where no one knows which formation will be the next govt at the centre and that too for how long till the next coalition steps in....its such a farce!

Why do you say "we feel proud"? Who is this "we"?"I" feel proud is fine though it would help if you specified what you are proud of and what are the new heights our democracy has reached

For the first time in past 4 years I feel that Congress should win the vote of confidence. India needs to become a close strategic ally of USA and Isreal. We are surrounded by hostile neighbourhood..islamic terrorists like Pakistan and Bangladesh to..totalitarian foes like China and Myanmaar.Even the middle-east nations like Saudi Arabia , Iran and even Russia cannot be counted as our friends. All these nations beliefs is against our fundamental way of life.India believes in individual freedom human rights and democracy. So how can India choose Islamic terrorist Iran over America as Mayawati wants? or China over America as Left wants given China's slow motion Nazism against Tibet? India shares its values in however limited fashion with Western democratic nations. There should be no hesiation to make friends with them. As far as American dominance is concerned, India is too strong to resist that and we should have that confidence and courage of a big power to talk and deal with US in equal terms.

Sometimes we are pained how some behave in the house
by VB on Jul 22, 2008 12:55 PM  Permalink

The discussion must be held with all decorum and we must see all sides of an issue before concluding. We should not be synical but to the point since this a matter of country and its future. It seems that our leaders and scientist have done good home work and we must move on. Agreement and cooperations are in interest of concerned parties and these keep on changing as per circumstances but we should get into international matters to paly an effective role.
