gandhis win, india loses
by Pradip Parekh on Jul 22, 2008 10:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

this "confidence vote" merely shows confidence in the power of immoral and unaccounted black money. it merely confirms india's sad history of long subjugation. there are any number of english authors who say that the easiest thing in india is to buy loyalty. a recent book by an ex-kgb agent who was stationed in india too confirmed this. this vote merely cries out loud for audit of gandhis.

Meaning

A victory gained at too great a cost.

Origin

Pyrrhic victory: King Pyrrhus of Epirus gained such a victory over the Romans in 279 BC at the battle of Asculum in Apulia. The battle was fought between Pyrrhus' army and the Romans, commanded by Consul Publius Decius Mus. The Epiriotic forces, although they won the battle, suffered severe losses of the elite of their army.

As far as congress is concerend, it was a tragedy. One of the noblest face in parliament stands discredited before the world. PM should have resigned at 5 o'clock on 22nd July.
