In 1954..
by Halum on Jul 21, 2008 02:41 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In 1954..President David Dwight Eisenhower proposed a similar concept of NSG and IAEA..at that time in Loksabha there was a debate..and Neheru said NO to Eisenhower porposal..this was based on the vision of Late Dr. Megnad Saha (Ref. Saha Ionization Law) who was then MP of Calcutta North-West..Neheru told in his speech " The effect of this kind of treaty will be immense in future. Every nations nuclear programm will be wide open to this organisation except a few." Today Congress doing the opposite of what their predecessors did once..

One has to learn from history and must not follow it blindly. Nehru was a great statesman and whatever we are today, it is because of that great man. The policies enunciated by him, was very relevant for his time. But those are not relevant today. For the sake of our children, the Nuclear deal is a must even if we have to remain subservient to the US for sometime. In this context, let me ask whether we were not subservient to Russia during Nehru's time. Nehru was the first international politician to criticize Anglo-French aggression against Egypt during Suez Canal crisis. But same Nehru kept mum during Russian annexation of Hungary which took place only a few years after Suez Canal crisis

CPI M should split
by sugata chatterjee on Jul 21, 2008 02:41 PM  Permalink

it is obvious cpi(m) leadership has gone to great guns like karat, raja, yechuri. majority of cpi(m) supporters from wb do not support the cricus of this vicious group, but they have to dance to the tune of these idiots. it is time wb cpi(m) should seriously consider distancing itself from these anti-bengalee crooks and take independent decisions on all issues solely based on wb's economic development.

Who says Deve Gowda is selfish. Certain facts are yet to be revealed to the Indian public. Read the following message posted on this Discussion Baord:

Now Arjun Singh says that there is no need to sign a N Deal with the U.S.

An agreement with Deve Gowda would suffice. Deve Gowda will keep on sleeping and unlimited Nuclear Energy will flow from Deve Gowda Lauda.

India only needs agencies for the power distribution.

this shows the mentality of the kannadigas.. they all are money minded. they even ready to swap their wives also for money

BJP taking a wrong stand
by ankur saxena on Jul 21, 2008 02:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

From the basics the BJP has always posed like the party for the Middle class INDIA. And at the core of heart all the Indians want to have a better quality of life and a good social status, and always dreamed about “INDIA having a globally respected name”.
Now because of the political crises BJP is opposing the congress for the nuclear deal.. Had BJP being on the Seat of congress the situation would have being exactly same. These same congressmen people have opposed the decision ? ( I hope that all would agree to this)
Now if BJP is really what they pose ( TO be a party for the Millions if middle class Indians) I think that BJP should Not participate in the no confidence motion ( Giving Green signal to Congress ) for the N-Deal, and once the same is proceeded . then Pass another No-Confidence motion , and try all the best efforts to pull down the Congress Govt.
This way I thing the BJP can prove that they are with the N-Deal and on the other hand they will get a respect amongst the people (millions like me) who support BJP but are not happy with the way they are acting these days on such important matters.
Also with this stand The Small little ( Mushroom ) parties and stupid Scoundrels 4 or 5 MP Parties, will understand there real grade ( AAUKAT PATA CHAL JAYGEE)
Toady all tom dick MP are managing the fate of our country ?????

BJP's stand on nuclear deal is criminally anti national!!
by Himalay on Jul 21, 2008 02:35 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is disgusting to see an issue of such national importance getting politicized in such a manner, it can happen only in India were the national leaders are such ill-literate buffoons.
Why can't politicians keep national interest ahead of their personal or party interests??
BJP's stand against the Nuclear deal is pathetic and criminally anti national. They themselves were willing to co-operate with US for a similar deal when they were in power in the centre, only bcos UPA has proposed now they are opposing it not giving a damn to national interest. BJP is trying to fool the people of India by cooking up all sort of lies & stories about the deal. If NDA would have proposed such a deal, i don't think UPA would have opposed it. BJP is a party of crooks.
