Manmohan may be the best prime minister India has had after Lalbahadur Shastri.
by Arjun bharatiya on Jul 21, 2008 01:18 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Indian democracy is reflection of Indian ethos and belief systems. We tend to prefer the more flamboyant and flashy people over the more silent, hard working types.
We all have witnessed the likes of Nehru, Vajpayee who were/are great orators and charismatic leaders, but whether they really practiced what they preached in their personal lives is for all of us to see and posterity to decide. Whether we would have done better without them? is for history to decide.

We have seen extremely powerful people like Indira and Advani at the helm of affairs. But whether they acted/act in real interest of the country or only to become more powerful is any body's guess.

Lal Bahadur Shastri was a man, who was short, not really charaismatic but when time demanded he proved his mettle and proved to be one of the best sons of the soil, willing to serve the motherland and not his own ego.

I wonder if Manmohan Singh has catapulted himself into the same league by standing up to the demands of tough times....

Alas... we realise the greatness and worth of people only after they are dead. Shastriji was the best prime minister.

Of recent times, APJ Abdul Kalam was the best president ....Lets see what grades time will give to Manmohan Singhji.

I think he will be proved 'the best' india has ever had. But not so soon. It will take atleast 25 years for the mostly foolish people of this nation to realise what marvels Manmohan did.

50 years down the line his stature would grow as high as the Mr. M K Gandhi

Of course a free PC and a keyboard will make you think you know everything, in fact you may not be as intelligent as your neighbourhood grocer.

I acted only in national interest: PM
by James Bond on Jul 21, 2008 01:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Dr. Singh,

Last year, when congress insisted Nuclear Deal and left threatened, you stepped back and said, our alliance with communists is more important and this deal can wait.

What happened now? Why so much hue and cry when most of your MLAs do not know the full forms of abbreviations like CTBT, NPT etc. I am refering to a seminar conducted by AIYCC where Minister of State for External Affairs briefed Nuclear Deal to congress MLAs. It is surprising that none of your MLAs knew the meaning of CTBT, NPT etc. Infact, one member did not know the meaning of Congress.

Just making hue and cry and shoutings will not take you anywhere. Spend time on briefing your team rather than blaming BJP, Mayawati, Communists et al. Congress is a curse to our nation. It was Congress which served 2/3 of Kashmir to Pakistan, it was Congress which brought shame to the nation by unnecessarily going into Tibet problem and inviting Dalai Lama and thus getting defeat in 1962. It is this party whose president was hit with a but on head in Sri Lanka. It was this party which has accepted dominance of white skin. This party should go.
