Coalition Dharma
by Satya Banerji on Jul 22, 2008 06:51 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

A nominated Prime Minister of a coalition should not stray from an agreed manifesto, or proceed without broad consensus on policy issues.

Mr. Banerjee, no where in the constitution of India it is written that a coalition government cannot take decisions independently for the national need. Moreover, there should be no compromise with communists. They are the enemy within India. We must fight them all over the places, otherwise, they will turn India into a beggar country just like they have done in West Bengal.

You obviously are a guru on coalition politics.... No worries, let's see what Congress does with their new bedfellows from UP... ;-)

Process is the best safeguard of coalition. You should abide by consensus of your coalition colleagues. You should ride rough shod on any coalition stakeholder. This applies to all group endeavors, not to politicians from UP alone. Any Guru is the very antithesis of coalition. A Guru is accepted as superior. A coalition is based on equality. Your allegory is inappropriate.

The Constitution does not include many facets of coalition life. That does not render commitment to a common manifesto as being untenable. While you may wish the communists unwell, their collaboration was sought by the UPA. Please bear in mind that the Constitution protects communists, your fantasies notwithstanding.

Indian government drafts in jailed MPs to avert collapse
by Spiderman on Jul 22, 2008 05:53 AM  Permalink

Multimillion-Euros bribes, MPs serving jail terms and some in intensive care are among the arsenal of weapons being wielded in a dramatic battle as India's government and its political opponents prepare for tomorrow's crucial confidence vote.

Ahead of a ballot that could trigger an early general election, both sides are feverishly battling to recruit new supporters to their ranks and to prevent presumptive supporters from being stolen by the other side. Indian politicians speak openly of being offered vast bribes for their votes, while others have reportedly been gifted senior government positions for their support.

The political drama that is playing out in the capital of the world's largest democracy relates to a nuclear energy deal the government has been pursuing with the United States. But the issue has been seized on by its opponents as an opportunity to strike at an administration made vulnerable by soaring inflation, and many of the country's smaller parties are using the affair to try to bolster their political capital.

MAYWATI: Serving her third term as the Chief Minister of India's largest state, Uttar Pradesh, Mayawati has emerged as the focus point of the so-called Third Front, distinct from the Congress Party and BJP. A founding member of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Mayawati has built her power on the support of the Dalits, or so-called untouchables, of which she is a member. A shrewd politician, many believe she is a future prime minister.

Why media and the above written text of advani not mentioning last paragraph of his speech in which he points out anti hindu stand and the policy of divinding hindus on the basis of reservation by UPA. They could not provide temprory land for pilgrims at amarnath because muslims started riots, what about their plane to destroy ram setu( specially that karuna nidhi) even free hand given to christian conversions in country( Andhara chief minister reddy a christian is openly supporting it). Why does not any one from the goverment answers these questions. On development front what initiative they have taken to solve the problem of electicity, unemployment, poverty leave alone solving this problems... only six percent of nuclear energy will be get by this deal that too after investment of crores of rs and in 2022) and they are saying it will solve all the problem of unemployment, poverty as if the deal does not go through there is no alternative source of enery why dont they invest in other energy sources?? Its rediculous the way this goverment ruled this county for four years .. no body in goverment is ready to answers to advani's questions .The media is playing a role as if they are about to go and vote in favour of congress makin hero out of pranav mukharjee and saying the advani speech was lackluster. Its patatic to see Media so much biased towards congress and against hindus..

MM Singh - A Lier, Deceiver, fraud.
by Bharat Kr on Jul 22, 2008 12:53 AM  Permalink

MM Singh - A Lier, Deceiver, fraud. He and his foreign master are the master of these methods. Thats why George Fernandes said, that woman is a habitual lier. The nation has not forgot, MM Singh said before dissolving Bihar assembly, there is a worst type of horse trading going on in Bihar. Then in the midnight, he lied and cheated president Kalam in Moscow to get singed a paper to dissolve Bihar Assembly. Before sunrise next morning, Bihar assembly was dissolved. What happened later? Supreme Court slapt on the face of so-called honest Dr Singh. And then they made Buta Singh, Govornor, a scapegoat. List goes on. On nuclear issue, MM Singh lied and deceived the nation. Lies are his best instruments of defense and deceive the nation.

Congress is playing all sort of dirty games to survive.
by Spiderman on Jul 21, 2008 11:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

First they released all MPs from prison with serious criminal charges to get thier votes. They are spreading false rumours about BJP and other groups MP absentions and support from other opposition groups which has been proven a big lie.
Inspite of all tricks and games they will certainly lose as they are betraying the nation by completely ignoring the issues such as all time haigh inflation which has been causing misery to poor population.
BJP is not agaist this deal but want equal partnership with them on this issue not as a junior partner who will always take orders from washington on everything. This slave mentality will do no good for us.
