by Thrinadh vasantavada on Jul 22, 2008 03:37 PM  Permalink

it is a strange case that the self styled big leader mr. karat has to face the challenge of mr. somnath babu.now karat may be repenting for poking a senior and well mannered somnath babu.for which he may face music.
it is high time that cpm polit buereo should teach him a lesson and cut him to size
in recent times congresss volunarability made him hero and he behaved very unreasonblyand his actions have putthe nation on ockword position..

This is the chance

Somanath Chaterjee knows that this is the last chance to taste power, glory. He is thinking that so far what he didn't get while being in Communist, he is enjoying being with congress.
Hence he is not ready to quit.

Mr. Somnath chatterjee had done great job
by EJAZ KHAN on Jul 22, 2008 11:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mr. Somnath chatterjee had done great job by not resigning as speaker in this difficult time for the nation. Speaker's post should remain above party line. He has taken the courages decision by not bow down on his party pressure. Yesterday, result of his decision had been seen by whole nation, how he handled all MP's.

what difficult situation you are talking for?? Somath Chatterjee is an elected member of Parliament from a national political party. He is bound to abide the decision of the party and he knows it very well. If he is defying the party whip and policies he is not following party policies and he is bound to resign from the post he got alongwith his party membership!!! That is the way of functioning!!! You cannot tell that Speaker is getting elected from a citizen of the country who is not contested any election!!! Yes of course, we can agree this argument if he was elected as an Independent in the Lok Sabha Election and then nobody will dare to finger a point on him.

Because of the impending commonwealth duties he is resigning on 12th. He has to keep some international commitments.Don't be a mean minded fellow. He is thinking of INDIA .First he is an Indian then a CPM member. He has not sold his ego and personality to anybody. And all the time a kid like KARAT is calling the shots. How can you listen to a person who is not beyond JNU politic. It is unfortunate that the seniors in CPM has allowed a kid to dictate.

People of entire India will dance and explode crackers when MMS govt fall down. People have no hope. UPA became Untruthful Purchase Alliance. People will praise the Left who beaten this anti-people govt.

Everybody understood today that they will sink with the ship and never escape who stand with Congress. Karnunanidhi, Lalu like parties must think the whole day, today. Otherwise, say Tata Bye Bye to Indian politics. Paid-writers must recognise that they will not be pleasant-smelling who lift an offensively malodorous group. If Congress could have done some good jobs for poor, 120 crore people would have remembered them.

go to google and search "Sahadevan's blogs".

Speaker of Lok Sabha not CPM
by mohan kumar on Jul 22, 2008 10:57 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Somnath Chatterjee is the Hon.Speaker of Lok Sabha not CPM. His decision to hold the post is right. CPM is going to face another split and in the vote of confidence govt will win and complete its tenure. Left can make the people of Kerala in every alternative 5 year term and people of Bengal and Tripura are always in fools paradise. The situation will change soon. Indian communists including marxists will face the same what happened in USSR. Mr.Sahadevan KK will remain the frog in the well.

Thanks for the explanation. I agree with you that Speaker position something different and it should not be dragged into controversies. He was elected speaker of the house of parliament, not by one party, but by the majority group supporting his candidature. It only shows Prakash karats poor understanding of parlimentary system and also shows his immature of his personal vendata against UPA government which is not supported by part of his own ex party colleagues. When China can sign a deal with USA and Nuclear Proliferation Group, there is no problem for Communists in India. If India, signs a deal, this time with better terms, Communists do not like it because it will jeopardise Chinese interest. These communists are working as agent for China or what? I dont know when the people of certain states like WestBengal, Kerala will throw this communists out of the map of India. If they want to work so much for China let these communists go and settle in China and lick their top-bras.

u all must agree that somnath is a member of cpm, did he resign from the membership of the party after he became the speaker? one has to understand the party logic, he is the member of the party and the party has every right to ask its member to do its biding. as per cpm constitution he will be expelled, as it is his constituency is delimited, so , probably that is upper most in his mind. the politburo is supreme in cpm. he as a member has to follow diktat. there is nothing written in the constitution about this. this is not a party like sp and bsp or cong where u can keep changing as and when u like. i am not a commie but, thats the party constitution they are following it.
