Can't Make up Her Mind
by Supriyo Chaudhuri on Jul 21, 2008 05:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Didi can't make up her mind who to side with. She thinks it would be congress, because they do much better than BJP in WB, but can't be sure - if the government falls and the vote is in six months, she may not want to go with Congress. The problem with Mamta is that she is an opportunist and therefore, unable to lead. Most of her South Calcutta voters would want her to go and vote for the government, but she is not sure which boat to jump on. It is sad that such people survive in politics because the rest of the system is also as bad and unprincipled.

China ideology of Leftists
by amrit choudhary on Jul 21, 2008 05:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why the Leftists didn't withdraw the support of UPA when so many issues arised which are directly related to poor people of the country. The red brigrade always shouting for poor peoples and taking lands forcely of poor farmers. The red brigade of India always following the instruction of China Mamata's decision may be fair but it must support one of two fighting sides of current scenario and she can't be neutral.

NDA falling apart
by All Right on Jul 21, 2008 05:38 PM  Permalink

With the rise of the UNPA, LK Advani's Prime Ministerial bid has taken a nose dive. BJP cannot by themselves hope to regain the Center without allies i.e. they need to expand membership of the NDA.

The needed more allies in Andhra Pradesh, UP, NE, West Bengal, Assam etc. All those parties which BJP were eyeing like TRS, TDP, TC, BSP have joined the 3rd Front.

As a result a trickle of defections from BJP-NDA is nowing threatening to turn to a flood.

However, a UPA win will burst the UNPA bubble as the reward for all Mayawati's poaching of MPs will be that she will be tried for corruption.

A discredited Mayawati will trigger the UNPA to disintegrate. Then these parties will flock back to either the NDA or UPA, leaving the Left isolated.

Mamata's decision
by Tamal Basu on Jul 21, 2008 05:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is the first time mamata Bannerjee has taken a matured decision. As she wants to keep distance, both from BJP and Congress to establish on her own, perhaps it will give leverage in long term.

I dont think if she can be on her own, really. She spent more goodwill in last couple of years than she earned. Unless she wants to take an 'Amra Bangalee' stance, which she seemed to be hinting at, she is going nowhere. This is, however, completely possible as she is an opportunist after all.

Advani Exposed a Typical Trait of all Knickerwallah
by All Right on Jul 21, 2008 05:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Knickerwallahs are known to like Goebbelian communications techniques. Advani in his speech against the motion accused Nehru wanting to sign the NPT. Pranab Murkherjee literally caught him with his pants down. He retorted that how Nehru who died in 1962 could sign a NPT which came into force only in the 70s?

Apart from this, Advani's speech was a damn squid.

Mamta Banerjee to abstain - By Arjun Singh
by AmarAkbar Antony on Jul 21, 2008 05:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mamta Banerjee will abstain from trust vote becuase she has a screw appointment with Prakash Karat.

These Bengali politicians are no good. Only the Bengali females are good - Moushami, Rani, Kajol, Sushmita, Rima, etc. Atleast if these females join the political main stream how much electricity can be generated through auto erection - almost 1/2 a billion people will auto generate electricity 24 X 7. No Nuclear Deal with US is then required and we will not become any ally of US against Iran.

This bain wave is from none other than the Unwakable, Shakable, Unstandable, Safari Suit cladable, Walking Stick Carrier the one and only one Arjun Singh.

Somnath Chatterjee - the biggest joker of this century.

All these days he was saying that he is fed up and does not want to continue as the speaker. Now when his party wants him to resign, he wants to continue - mad bugger.

It, therefore, cannot vote along with forces like the CPI-M or the BJP. Ideologically, it can neither vote for the Congress.
by bukkaraya krishna on Jul 21, 2008 05:25 PM  Permalink

After enjoying as a Central Minister under both the leadership, Didi now says that she cannot vote for BJP/Congress? Does she thinks that the memory of the people is so poor as Bengal people who forget all the mishappening in their state for 5 years and again vote for Commies and electing them for 30years.

She says that she doesn't want to go to Delhi and Delhi want to come to Bengal? If such is the case why she has contested the Parliament seat, to enjoy the salary & other benefits of an MP?
By keeping the Nandigram/Singur issue burning and forcing the people loose their lives she want to be in limelight and win alone this time that is why she doesn't want any help from BJP & Congress this time.
I challenge through this forum to Didi to make an announcement whether she is fielding her party candidates in the next coming Parliament elections, if so she has to clarify that on what basis she is doing so, as New Delhi cannot come to West Bengal.
Above all I want a clarification from Didi that is she thinking that no confidence motion against the Prime Minister is placed in west Bengal assembly, if not how she is thinking New Delhi to come to Bengal.
