Olympic torch relay may be happening in New Delhi but CPM led West Bengal Government has banned all Anti China Protests in West Bengal!

Two weeks after it allowed Tibetan activists to hold a candlelight vigil, the CPM-led West Bengal Government has denied them permission to hold a three-day anti-China public rally scheduled to begin today forcing them to go indoors.

Ironically, there were as many as 11 rallies in the city during the day. These included a rally by the Trinamool in Park Circus to protest against the state government’s failure to check prices and a similar one by CPM supporters in Tollygunge to protest against inflation.

Chinese Consul General in Kolkata Mao Siwei was quick to give much deserved praise to CPM

“This is a correct decision because the Government of India made a commitment to the Government of China that no anti-China rallies will be allowed to take place anywhere in the country,”

Remember this is the same CPM which had said

right to strike is a fundamental rights of not only government employees but of the entire working class

I guess the for CPM Loyalty towards their masters in China is more important that "some fundamental Right" of people.

A lot of Sardars danced at Cochin city, when MMS became PM. But they are now desparate. He could not save Sardars, our country; Congress leaders and Congress cadres. Where is Bhagat Singh and where is Manmohan Singh!

CPM Stands true to its ''Traitor'' Image''
by Pappu Nuni on Jul 21, 2008 03:13 PM  Permalink

CPM Leaders have again proven that its only their body which is in India their heart is always is in Neighbouring Countries. For some like Yetchury its in China while some like Tripura Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sahid Choudhury have their heart with HUJI, a suspected Bangladeshi militant Group responsible for several Terrorist Attacks in India.

According to investigators, Choudhury helped Mamun Mian an HuJI activist and Bangladeshi national procure an Indian passport as well as a permanent resident certificate (PRC). Mian was held by the West Bengal CID on March 27 from Agartala following the arrest of two Bangladeshis, Alamgir Hussain and Shamim Akhtar, from Howrah along with some arms and explosives. The two also carried details of Army bases in north Bengal. Mamun Mian is also suspected of involvement in a fake currency racket across the Northeast. “He is believed to have circulated fake currency worth about Rs 200 crore in the past few years,” an official said.

The police is also examining whether Choudhury also had any links in the smuggling of foodgrains and arms across the Indo-Bangla border.

Instead of Expelling the TRAITOR for the Party and handing him over to police, CPM has come out strongly in Support of him. CPM central committee member Bijan Dhar said.

"We do not believe Sahid Choudhury has links with HuJI or any other terror outfit. He resigned from his post to facilitate a free and fair probe after controversy broke out over his alleged ti

Nuclear agreement
by Abdul on Jul 21, 2008 03:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

UPA wins or looses this agreement is good for the country.
Government should go ahead on this deal even if it looses the confidence vote.
Anyway even if BJP wins the next election this agreement will go through.
I fully agree with Rahul Gandhi that this is landmark same as was introduction of computers.

How is it useful when the total implementation of the Nuclear Power Plants will only serve for 8% of the power requirements by 2020!. Also the power generated by it will cost more than the power from conventional ways. Currently india's total Nuclear Power Production stands at 2.8%. So a target of 8% by 2020 will only increase india's power production by a meager 5.2%....All the havoc by congress for this target which can be easily attained by choosing any conventional approaches at a lesser implementaion and operating cost....Guys just wait and "BOOT OUT CONGRESS" in next elections.

Note that i am not a Communist party supporter. But i feel what Communist Parties are telling is true. After the IAEA india will not have a say to that deal. It is on auto pilot and india will surely have to forcefully go ahead with it just to hold its head up in the international community.

N-DEAL
by Rakesh Sharma on Jul 21, 2008 03:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

THE NUCLEAR POWER CAN HAVE MUCH MORE FRIGHTENING ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECTS THAN COAL...

UK, US AND CANADA ARE PUTTING MAXIMUM SOLAR, WIND AND NON-CONVENTIONAL ENERGY PLANTS FOR FUTURE.....

NON-CONVENTIONAL POWER PLANTS HAVE NOT ACHIEVED THEIR OBJECTVIES BECAUSE OF GOVTS. DEFECTIVE POLICIES AND INTERFERENCE...

IF MEDHAS CAN STOP HYDEL....WHAT STOPS THEM FROM STOPPING NUCLEAR PLANTS WHICH HAVE MORE RISK FACTOR.....

NUCLEAR POWER IS OF COURSE GOOD BUT NOT AT THE RISK OF OUR NATIONAL SECURITY....NOT AT THE COST OF OUR NUCLEAR WEAPONS PROGRAMME...WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF AFTER INVESTING ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND CRORES OF RUPEES INDIA WILL BE CATEGORIESED AS CHEAT BY THE US AND THE DEAL WILL BE PUT OFF BY THEIR PRESIDENT..LIKE IN CASE OF IRAN OR IRAQ....WHAT USE WILL THAT INVESTMENT BE...HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND CRORES WILL LIE IDLE...BUT THE PEOPLE WHO GOT US IN SUCH A MURKY DEAL MAY NOT BE TRACEABLE....IN FACT BJP SHOULD TAKE THE SECURITY AND OTHER CONCERNS REGARDING THE DEAL TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THE PEOPLE KNOW THAT THERE ARE SOME SERIOUS DISADVANTAGES OF THIS DEAL...RATHER THAN BEING THE GOODY-GOODY GIFT FROM UNCLE SAM....US IS AS DANGEROUS AS CHINA OR PAKISTAN.. IT LOOKS AFTER ITS INTERESTS ONLY... BUT THE CONG SEEMS TO BE GETTING SOME UNDER THE TABLE BENEFIT CERTAINLY FROM THIS DEAL...

Rakesh,

Don't doll out your stupid opinions like a rabid dog.

INdia is not new to Nuclear power. We already have some successfully running atomic power plant in our country. So, there is no need to be afraid.

This deal will enable India to get latest nuclear technology and will also ensure smooth supply of nuclear fuel from NSG.

Nuclear defence prog will be safely in place and no need to panic.

All the atomic units are not going to be under the supervision of IAEA.

Have a peaceful sleep and don't get afraid by wrong propaganda.

IF you are an India, plz welcome the deal. If u are a chinese (aka Communist), this is not the place for u to bark. Get lost and get killed by your chinese brothers while trying to cross Indo-Sino border.

Mr Rakesh Sharma our great Prime Minister's intergritty is beyond doubt and he can understand the inticacies of the deal better than you and me. Now let us just bestow our faith in him. Left is not right in opposing them becasue they could not understand the intricacies of technology as they failed during compuerisation drive.

How great is our PM is known to all today, when he said that there is no Horse Trading in the on-going tussel between ruling party and oppositions. He has proved that HE IS THE BIGGEST LIER in India.

This man may be an educated person. But he is unfit to rule the country. A lier cannot be our leader. Contrary to this, when Morarji Desai faced similar situation in 1977 when Charan Singh led his folks out of the Janta Party, Morarji did not succumb to pressures from Akali Dal, although Akali DAl's demands were genuine. Morarji was not ready to accept any precondition for support to his government as he thought it would diminish the image of PM's office and quit the post. Those were the times when some amount of morality was left in INdian politicians. And see what is happening today. All murderers, thieves and anti-social elements who are in jail will come out and vote for the government.

Sachi, Congress doesnot have courage. Manmohan opposed Pokharan II. Now he is taking shelter. He cut down the budget for nuclear programe when he was FM. His minister Natwar Singh till recently used to curse BJP for starting nuclear arm race in the region by going for Pokharan II. He used to be the Darling of Sonia. When he was caught along with Sonia in Oil Scam he was thrown out to save the skin of Sonia!

Congressi donot have the courage to say that they want to go for stretegic relationship with US. In fact it can be done without this deal also. US is desperate. But I fail to understand why MMS is so desperate for deal

china has signed the same agreement 20 years back. according to left understanding, china must have also sold their country to u.s.a. can the left explain this matter about their stand.
