The fault is ours
by Guest on Jul 21, 2008 06:09 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When elections happen, its not the educated and discerning type, who vote in large numbers. Its the uneducated, poor, down-trodden Indians who go out in the heat, stand in long queues, and cast their precious vote. Unfortunately, because of their gullible nature, they end up electing unworthy candidates. These unworthy MPs make a mockery of the Parliament - like we have been witnessing in the past few days. Those who have the knowledge and the means, but do not vote, are to be blamed. Lets vow to rectify the situation when the next election happens.

There is a talk of Mayawati becoming PM
by TeraBaap on Jul 21, 2008 05:02 PM  Permalink

What a shame, Indian politicians still have genes of trecherous Jaichand including Chandrababu to Laloo where they will go out of the way to oppose a deserving candiddate but will have no problem in getting underserving Mayawati, Devegauda, Sonia to be their leader and even PM, shame on India's politicians, they can't have concensus on what's good for the country.

Why only nuclear deal?
by gaurang patel on Jul 21, 2008 03:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why this congress govt. going after nuclear deal with so much passion even though it had the following big questions behind it:

i) There is already cartel of nuclear fuel producting countries in existence. Is there any guarantee that they will not fakely rise the price of nuclear fuel as it is currently happening with crude. By doing this deal we are changing our dependency on crude with nuclear fuel which will not be helpful.
ii) Does the deal guarantees the avilability of nuclear fuel with ease?
India has the following things available in abundence: i) Sunlight( can be used to produce solar electricity) ii) Wind energy iii) Hydel power iv) Natural gas ( huge amount of gas is available in kg basin along with natural gas at other place.) If govt. becomes serious & uses time & effort to generate power/electricity from this resources then we would never be dependent on other fuel resources like "Crude" & "Nuclear fuel". Dear Indians we know the deal is good but the simple fact is we are changing our dependency from "CRUDE" to "Nuclear fuel". Opposition may be opposing the deal with political reasons but some of our scientist's opinion regarding the cartel of nuclear fuel countries needs to be considered more severly as this issue is very very important for our country.

So, The Left & Right are once again in Alliance. They did in 1977, 1989 and again in 2008. BJP & Communists are 2 sides of same coin. Hence both are same opinion on N-deal.

historical event
by Vishal Bhargava on Jul 21, 2008 03:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If the govt falls and the N-deal isnt passed, history will bear witness to the biggest folly of the Left and BJP. It would be a blunder as big as Nehru's folly of asking UN to give away the Permanent Security Council seat to China, that was being offered to India. Since then, India has been trying to for the last 40 years to gain entry but has failed to do so. Chances like the N-deal do not come easily

Thanks for your comments. Could you please give me some more information (reference) about Nehru asking UN to give security council seat to China? This is a news to me and I would really like to enrich myself. Thanks.

Energy anf food are future
by VB on Jul 21, 2008 03:10 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In future the whole of world will hover around Energy as well as Food for progress. PM has taken visionery steps for the country by promoting both i.e. energy and agriculture. This will change this country and keep us with the changing times. All countries are facing energy as well as food crises. These are going to take India much ahead of others. We are sure that great God is with such a person.

Kindly go and check first your numbers. Out of total energy need of India only 4-5% has come from nuclear power till now and even after N-deal the number wont rise beyond 9%. So why entire congress and their newly traded horses is behind this source of energy. There are other unconventional sources like solar, wind, water cells. India should have concentrated on those if they realy want to stay ahead of competition.

Failsafe?

Can we be sure that there is no illiterate or imbecile MP who by mistake will not press the wrong button? The opinion the general public has about the quality of some MPs is not very flattering.
