Dr Shashi K Pande's lamenting on lack of truth in today's political atmosphere is understandable. But what's the truth. In the context of the subject matter which is to endorse the 1-2-3 agreement with US, I look for the right step. The approach towards the end may not satisfy the 'truth' process. Since 1974 India has been denied the advanced technology and now it is opening up at the right time. If the Hyde Act prevents the country from testing the nuclear warhead, the truth shall prevail ultimately. Meaning whether a 'pokhran test' is absolutely essential for India or not, shall be taken care by the then 'truth' serum for the country. But gains are to be made by signing the agreement. Truth and the opposite are two heads of the same coin. Sibhu Saran or Amar Singh or Siddiqui, if they behave as they do without being endorsed by those who believe that Curzon was right about Indians, I must say let the Truth shall emerge when the vote is taken. When Indira Gandhi was thrown out, when Sanjay Gandhi was tossed out of the plane and when Sonia was stopped at the zenith of change of history for India, it is the truth that prevailed. So be it, now. Jayaraman
All the MPs and PMs should learn to use Gandhiji's Charkha, and they should teach it to all the curzons of the world. That will save all the problems of the world.
Indian slaves and their master Italian Congress Monarchy. Even over 100 years back, people in the west wrote Indians (read Hindus) don't have sense of history, they are ok if foreigners rule them. They prefer sub-ordinate rules, and happy. This situation has not changed even a bit, one 20 years naturalised Italian chrsitian woman control the billion plus peoples country. And Indians are happy to be in sub-ordinate powers. We Indians lack self-resptect and confidence. Inferiority complex of dark and brown skin colors are their major problem. Come of this trap and see dark and browns are beautiful too.
A brilliant article. India is a corrupt nation with an utter lack of self-respect. Political opportunism and greed are thrust in your face in every corner. Everybody wants to get ahead and push other people to the sidelines. And yet everybody in this great country of ours believes that he is morally superior to the other.
We all stand in judgement of each other. The best thing would be to introspect and change. But that is bitter medicine, so let us rejoice in the last supper and sell Jesus( Did he die for our sins, O I forget I'm a Hindu!!!)
When all notions of self-respect are buried uder the dead wieght of a spurious "secularism", this is bound to happen. People don;t respect what they don't take pride in. And what they don't respect, they don;t care to preserve. Hence, you have MPs bargaining for personal positions, the country's interests be damned.
