NARASIMHA RAO-A UNFORGOTTED HERO
by nishu kutty on Jul 21, 2008 12:14 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

IT WAS NARASIMHA RAO WHO AS A CAPABLE LEADER TOOK BOLD DECISIONS FOR THE LIBERALISATION OF INDIAN ECONOMY IN 1991 AND NOT MANMOHAN SINGH. HE ONLY FOLLOWED HIS MASTERS VOICE AS HE ALWAYS DOES.
IF MMS IS A GREAT ECONOMIST/(ASSUMING PRIME MINISTER), WHAT PREVENTED HIM FROM STOPPING THE ONLINE TRADING IN CONSUMABLE COMMODITIES LIKE PULSES, WHEAT, RICE ETC WHICH HAS LED TO INCREASE IN PRICES OF EDIBLE ITEMS. (LETS US FORGET ABOUT THE OIL PRICES, WHICH MAY BE OUT OF HIS CONTROL).
AS AN ABLE PM WHY CANNOT HE DIRECT HIS SUPER BRILLIANT FINANCE MINISTER P.CHIDAMBARAM TO STOP ONLINE TRADING?
AFTERALL, P.V.NARASIMHA RAO ALSO SURVIVED FOR FOUR YEARS IN THAT TURBULENT PERIOD WITH A MINORITY GOVERNMENT.

ABSOLUTELY! And that God avatar purush was insulted in even His death by Italian waitress Sonia and her coterie. SHAME ON THEM. Shame on all the ungrateful sewage people of India for having forgotten PVN because of whom we are eating our food today. I SPIT on the people of India who couldn't respect that great man even in his death - they used WET REDWOOD instead of the sandalwood that is used for useless corrupt waste sewage like the Gandhi family. I can never forget the Eenaadu paper front page photo of PVN's half burnt face lying on the pyre and how Sonia didn't allow his last journey's carriage through the road on which her house stands.

Spiralling prices
by ritesh kumar on Jul 21, 2008 12:10 AM  Permalink

If the world's largest financial organisations suddenly decide to put billions of dollars in commodities, the world will be in mess. And there is nothing that the govt. can do to control prices as we are not an isolated economy. The prices of crude oil has risen by almost 100% in last year so you can imagine that the prices of just about everything that needs to be transported from the place of origin to the place of consumption will automatically rise.
Just as a matter of fact the diesel, kerosene and LPG (which are used by most of the people) prices are still heavily subsidised.

Mr PAULY! WHY this BULLSHIT from you! YOU SHOULD BE CAREFUL & REASONABLE while commenting for any party. BJP is opposing the way MMS is going ahead in stealthily fashion for this N-deal, They are for nuclear energy but not at the cost of sovereignty of the 'NATION'. It is better for each & every individual of this country to understand that hiding 'FACTS' by any political party will definitely affect India & its poor population.

Pauly,
It was Mr Vajpayee and the BJP who had the courage to take decison on Pokhran Nuclear Blasts. The world recognized India as nuclear power only because of it. The deal is because of them not congress. Infact BJP wants to finish the deal in their own regime.
Anyways the deal is worth indeed. So it should be signed whatever the government is.

You might the following written about NARASIMHA RAO in Wikipedia interesting

- Rao picked conservative BJP leader Atal Behari Vajpayee to represent India in a debate on disarmament at the United Nations.[60] Although they were political opponents, Vajpayee's pro-nuclear stance was in accordance with Rao's own views. Vajpayee later became the Prime Minister.

- According to Vajpayee, when he became the PM in 1996 Rao handed him a piece of paper which simply stated 'Bomb is ready. You can go ahead.' (referring to a nuclear device) and asked that it should not be made public. Vajpayee revealed this only after Rao's death.

Its not Uranium .Its China
by ritesh kumar on Jul 21, 2008 12:05 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its not about getting nuclear fuel for our reactors. It's about containing China's growing threat to our country. We are surrounded by countries which are hostile to our interests and all of which are cosying upto China. We need to have the capability to defend our country should a situation arise where we are attacked by China. And believe me it's threat that is looming on our heads like dark clouds. We need to modernise our military capability for which we need technology and we don't have the time or the resources to invent it.Given the American sanctions we cannot have access to that technology and this deal promises to nullify those sanctions. We should support our govt in the effort that they hv put in this deal.and Stop blaming the prime Minister. He is not a weak PM and he has exemplified it by showing courage to go for what he believed was in best interests of the people of this country.

Excuse me sir...no other country in the world is as dangerous as the US. Poorer countries which supported the US had always been their target subsequently.

Super Duper manmohan scrapped the POTA, Cried when BJP conducted the nuclear blasts, Cries for more resources to Muslims (are other minorities beggars to him), failed in controlling price rises and most importantly FAILED TO CONTROL TERRORISM.
After, proving himself as a great Economist, he wants to now prove as a NUCLEAR SCIENTIST/ARCHITECT.

SCRAPPING 'POTA' WAS A GRAVE MISTAKE DONE BY MMS. HE has definitely FAILED in controlling 'TERRORISM' & has followed the appeasement policy. He is on 'WRONG FOOT' this time.

Cashing in on the situation
by ritesh kumar on Jul 21, 2008 12:02 AM  Permalink

BJP wants to cash in on the situation by making the govt fall because it thinks this is an opportune time since inflation is an 13 yr high. They believe that if elections happen at this time people will vote for them. When they get elected they will sign the same deal with US and happily say that our concerns have been alleviated in the new deal.
Our country needs a full time govt to take care of spiralling prices not some caretaker govt whose hands are tied in doing any major policy change.

ITS BETTER FOR CONGRESS TO LOSE THE NO CONFIDENCE MOTION THIS TIME OVER THIS ONE SIDED DEAL WITH USA .OTHERWISE ,IF CONGRESS DOES MANAGE TO SCRAP THROUGH ..THEY WILL GO THROUGH HELL FOR 1 MORE YEAR BEFORE THE GENERAL ELECTIONS...BECAUSE THE SMALL PARTIES AND INDEPENDENTS THAT SUPPORT THEM WILL CREATE HELL FOR CONGRESS FOR MINISTERY POSITIONS OR LARGE SUMS OF MONEY... THEY ALL WILL PLUCK CONGRESS LIKE A PACK OF DOGS AND IN THE END CONGRESS WILL BE IN SUCH A STATE THAT THEY MIGHT MANAGE TO LIMP TO ONLY 50 SEATS WHEN THEY GENERAL ELECTIONS IN A YEARS TIME...

Rise of Mayawati, BJP engineering absentions to cut her to Size
by All Right on Jul 20, 2008 11:55 PM  Permalink

All the defections including that of Shahid Siddiqui shows it is not UPA but UNPA and NDA that are indulging in the defection game. But Shahid Siddiqui's defection has made the game clearer:

a. The Left's game-plan is to foster Mayawati on the nation
b. As the UNPA gains momentum, BJP's prospect of victory shrinks. What follows maybe is mass desertion by regional parties, particularly of NDA towards UNPA
c. The deal is being opposed as anti-Muslim

Within these re-alignments taking place, the BJP and NDA strategically are covertly encouraging abstentions. A UPA win will burst the UNPA bubble as the reward for all Mayawati's poaching of MPs will be that she will be tried for corruption.

Mayawati has completely changed the landscape of Indian Politics.
by Dinesh Thakur on Jul 20, 2008 11:54 PM  Permalink

Make no mistake as most opposition parties are very angry with congress party which is targeting thier parties by buying thier MPs so they will support maya ji at all cost and we will be surprised by the final result.
Maywati has mobilised trmendous support now and if election held soon she will have landslide victory. Congress and SP have lost muslim support forever. Muslims decide more than 100 MP seats including 45 from UP alone and dalits and other weaker class more than 250 MP seats. Even upper caste are now supporting Mayawati in big numbers.
