The Unprincipled Karat's Left front will be the loser.
by jamsheed abumohammed on Jul 21, 2008 08:23 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The unprincipled Karat has taken the Left front on the suicidal path.He has signed the death warrant of the Left front in the next elections. This anti-religious front not to missout on the Muslim vote claimed that the Nuke deal was anti-Muslim. So much so, the Left Kerala Assembly passed a resolution condemning the Congress support to Bush's "bloody campaign against Muslims". What a dangerous trend in a country ravaged by secterian strife. And all to pull down a most secular govt and pushing the nation to the waiting sectarian BJP, is not exactly a conventinal communist trajectory. How far the Karat company is justified in brushing aside the core issues of price rise, inflation touching almost 15% in the next few months, decides to pull down the govt on their anti-nuclear deal plank. This is not a people's issue, its not imperialism issue since most of the people did not care. What Karat and company, the blind ideologue, failed to recognise was that India with its diverse culture, mul-religious identity cannot be ruled by a faithless traditionless, uniform block of proletariats nor by fanatic fundamentalists. The softer path so assiduously cleared by his elders led to the Lefts steady increase in power, and Karat's steering away from it is nothingbut suicidal. He must also understand that the people are interested in food security, jobs to youth, continued supply of energy. All these could be met by a stable governance, not discontent, not econmic uncertainities, not early elections.

Parties with few MP's decide the fate
by amit on Jul 21, 2008 08:02 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sad to be part of the democracy, where party MP's are being bought for 25 crore (the speaker of house himslef admitted that). The MP's are supposed to serve people, they are getting richer in this mess. NO ethics or morals, how can they call themselves Leaders of the country? Shame on politicians who are getting money for voting for or against the govt, Desh ki garib janta ki HAI lagegi, phir zindagi barbad hogi, phir pata chalega

I lost my cinfidence in indian democracy.
JMM was saying "we have offers from both sides"!
what does that mean? the bigger concern if the nuke deal is good or not is not at all discussed anywhere! I think we in this forum have done a better discussion and an undestanding of the deal than any other political parties now!

by sujith t on Jul 21, 2008 07:58 AM  Permalink

Communist party has always been a thorn in the development of India. They are worried about China (if India signs the agreement)and not India. As far as Mayavathi being the PM candidate....it wold be considered as Black Day for India...

Trust Vote - UPA win will be a slap on face of BJP
by jamsheed abumohammed on Jul 21, 2008 06:08 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BJP is day dreaming to vote out the UPA Govt, while some from the flock are sneaking out. The dinner party of BJP was a failure as most of them did not turn up from its own party and that of allies. SAD and BJD members were absent. They may bastain as they were not sure of getting party ticket in the next elections. Nine months is a longer period in politics, MPs did not want to lose. In any event, the BJP,Left and others strategy to vote out the govt would meet with failure and strengthen UPA further. In any event UPA will reap the benefit. This event was a blessing in disguise for the sagging spirit of the UPA and allies, who were cornered due to problems of price rise and inflation. The opposition has indirectly doomed the chances of BJP and allies in the next elections. But for this, UPA was on the backfoot and was sure to lose. But then came the Left withdrawal and BJP desperation. All these added to the advantage of the UPA, which the opposition failed to read. In the end, UPA would emerge the main beneficiary of the sordid drama enacted by BJP,Left,BSP, and UNPA. It is now clear to the common man, the nuclear energy is beneficial to the nation and that the opposition was trying to throw a spanner in the wheel. What was an unknown commodity, through their act of insanity, they enlightened the common man what is nuclear energy and why Govt is so desperate to sign the deal. The common man has understood that the nation needed the nuclear energy mainly to help villages needs.

The writter call it dharmyouddh. what a shame. a nation of millions of starving children is wasting its precious time, attention and energy on dirty political game.
i wonder why rediff highlights these blood suckers politicians.
they should only talk about business leaders who are creating jobs in india. social workers, spiritual leaders who are teaching love and compassion.
thats all.
its high time we youth wake up and bycotte these dirty, blood sucking politicians.
