Even if he crosses 50% mark marginally, it still means ~50% is against Congress policies. Why is the majority mark set as 50%? It should be 2/3 right? MMS should resign on moral grounds.
RE:MMS should realize half the nation is not in his favor

who told you nation is not in his favour..as per the opinion poll conducted by a ntaional news channel, only 15% opposed the nuclear deal.. even inside the parliament, if there are no personal interests like seat for next election, money, power etc, majority of MPs will vote for the nuclear deal.
CONTINUATION OF MY EARLIER MESSAGE: Benefits that India can reap from Indo-US nuclear deal will reveal in future. The vision of Dr. Manmohan Singh will be of great merit and clear in near future. Pushing ahead with Indo-US nuclear deal is the supreme interest of the country. The nation needs to save Congress led UPA government at this juncture. Instead of trying to topple the government to capture power, all political parties should extend their cooperation. For mere political gain, N-deal should not be communalized. It is unfortunate to communalize that Indo-US nuclear deal is against the Muslim community. The act of bringing down the government at this moment is ethically wrong. It would be a great mistake of our future. Advaniji and Arun Jaitley understand it well, but they stand against it for that if election is held now, they hope they may get people verdict and capture power from UPA. This is the only reason for them to oppose it. A true political party should not be against when the ruling party takes a very constructive approach for the nation. In the interest of the nation, they should stop their sleepless effort of deserting MPs to gain political power opportunity. The nation needs the present government for the national development and prosperity.
That is the option left for the people. BJP and Leftists has proved that they work to entertain and save interests of not India, but our enemies China & Pakistan. For something good to take place in this country give simple majority to congress.
They have introduced economic reforms, IT, telecom, computer and green revolutions. They have a sense of direction, eventhough not 100% always. Opportunists should be shown the place where they belong to.

Hi friend, This is nice comment. Really, something good is going happened in India after a longtime, if UPA Govt. will sustain. It will have longterm good effects like IT, green revolution. BJP doesn't have any sence and LEFT are enemy of India.

Dear friend i too agree with the remark.Actually UPA Govt. is doing a nice work for our country. We need nuclear deal for a lots of purposes in future starting from electricity power to research. So Give simple majority to congress.
If BJP allow its members to vote on conscience all except a few like Advani, Yashwant, Jaswant will vote for the deal. And their allies publicly declared that (SAD, SS) they are for the deal beause it can do only good for India but they are voting against it because of BJP!

If the conscience formula is applied to all the parties, then congress is definitely going to lose the game. There are many Law Makers (Breakers) in these dirty politics, virtually looking for large monetary & other gains.
Yes-The deal will certainly be good for the country. Even though India got plenty of thorium no country in the world can still use thorium for power production with current technology. So the better option is get uranium from other places (like US) to meet our demands. Indian coal power generation do not meet the requirements and it is also the major cause for global warming!! Inspite of having plenty of water/rivers India our idiot state and centre will never construct dams for example in Andhra what all major dams we had are all from 1950s no major dam is constructed in the recent past..excepting few minor dams which re good for nothing. So we dont use our water!!we open gates and flood the water into sea/ocean. So the only feasible option left is nuclear energy!!! even though we need to buckle under US I dont see any better power production options in India other than nuclear in the near future.

USA buys uranium from Russia. Your basic premise is wrong. Clearly you have no clue about nuclear energy but still has an opinion. Don't you think USA would have solved its own energy problem if nuclear was the answer.
The law of harvest is in full swing in BJP camp that is what you sow,so you reap. BJP engineereed defection, lured others and now it is their turn to lose some of them to the same tactics they used against others. One BJP MP Brij Bhusan has appeared before the Press to vote for UPA. There are many who would either abstain or vote in favour of the Govt. It appears that BJP and allies are fast losing grounds and UPA will emerge successful tomorrow. Though SP lost five of its MPs to BSP, indications are that some from BSP may switch to SP camp very soon. All curtains would be up tomorrow. UPA wins or lose, in any event it is beneficial to them. If they win, they will continue the good work for the welfare of the people and country. If they lose, they will go to the people and earn sympathy. The Left strategy and that of BJP would fail before the people power. NDA dinner party was a failure as many did not turn up both from the BJP and allies. SAD members were conspicuous by their absence as majority would vote for the Govt as blood is thicker than water, question of Sikh community prestige arises. Similarly Left is too not a happy lot, as some of the MPs mainly Muslim MPs are likely to abstain from the voting. Somnath case is the pointer to the possible crack in the Left camp. He stood his ground on his principles, while Left took the most unprincipled action of toppling the secular govt of the day.At the end of the day, Left would regret for ever as people would not forgive them

I have read the article and I had read about the statemenet from USA personnel that if there had been nehru, the deal would have been impossible. The so calles nationalist lobby of RSS and BJP call the same Nehru as a weak primeminister and some even criticise him of going for non align movement and have an opinion that Nehru should have left pro russian policy and have gone alogn with US as Pakistan did. Now question should be asked that then what would have happened to INDIA considering that INDIA then was a juvenile state with a very weak economy? Anothere question arises that why the then ruling NDA, with ATAL,, wanted to sign the deal with the lesser negotiations and emoluments thant the present govt of Manmohan ? Why BJP now opposes the deal on grounds of national interest?. the stand of left can be understood on account of ideology but the stance of NDA is far from sense. This is pure politics and nothing else. Nobody is talking of nuclear deal now. They just want to topple down the govt and it seems that Govt also wants to get toppled.
BJP will have a benifit of saying that they are better in terms of controling inflation and giving a stable govt . Left will have benifit of saying that they have a nationlist and pro-muslim attitude.
Congress will play on the so called " Mercy Voting" saying that Manmohan Singh was actually a great strong prime minister who 'sacrificed ' his govt for developement of his country,, a great leader,,,, a comitted leadership.
Looking at the present scenario, the political crisis created by BJP and leftist has no value in the sense that there is the need of stability of the present government. Economy is still under inflationary pressure. Trying to topple the government at this stage is not a better option. At the same time, the nuclear option is important for India's future. The supreme importance the Indo-US nuclear deal is of the essential to provide energy security for the long run. It would be absolutely useful to solve the problem of power to come in India's future. More demand for energy is placed on our country for future energy supply. Based on the expert committee report, the estimated power needed by India would be at 960,000MW by 2031-32. There is no doubt that coal is the most easiest and cheapest option for energy. Though, as coal reserve deplete the coal-based-power production will not able to handle the situation in future decades. The extractable coal reserve may not last long. Another better and more accessible option than nuclear power is solar energy. But there is no certainty for solar energy to become the source of the future. Yet nobody knows if the technology can be scaled up, work in cloudy countries, or overcome maintenance issues. So, in such circumstances Indo-US nuclear deal becomes essential option for providing energy security for long term benefit. It is the best interest of the country. Benefits that India can reap from Indo-US nuclear deal will reveal in future.

So why did not Manmohan just table the Nuclear deal for a YES/NO vote instead of all this tamasha? If majority voted YES, fine and if Manjority Voted No, then so be it. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..They wanted to just push it in Cabinet only. Never wanted your ELECTED representatives to have a SAY in it. So please pull head out of your rear and ponder why they didn't do what I said above. Its because of idiots like you who don't understand Democracy but bark like dogs on blogs is the reason for this pitiful situation
Yeah. You are right. Ther is no certainty in Solar energey. But YES. There is certainiy in Nuclear power because the World will never get exhausted of Uranium. You know Uranium grows on plants. And when denamd increases for Uranium, US wil take steps to sell it for reduced prices for India alone. And YES there is ONE more real possibility with Nuclear POWER. LEAKED RADIATION. We cant take of pitiful Methane at Union Carbide but yet we are going to take care of Nuclear radiation.

hi, so WHY DONT YOUR ELECTED REPERESENTATIVE FORM AN ALTERNATIVE GOVT. iTS GOVTS JOB TO MAKE DEALS, THE OPPOSITIONS JOB IS TO OPPOSE. THERE IS NO BINDING ON GOVT FOR PUTTING IT ON TABLE. DID BJP ASKED THE SO CALLED ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES WETHER TO DO "POKHARAN 2" , YES/NO.? WHY NOT ? THANKS

Mr. Philo, UPA Government is democratic government, government of people representatives, formed by the support the majority of elected MPs. The government has cabinet. I guess you must know what the cabinet mean. The foremost necessary is the approval of the cabinet. Why should it be table unnecessarily?

Philo, Do you still believe in these bunch of jokers, sorry, "your ELECTED representatives"? how many of these you think had read the treaty properly or in fact know what a nuclear deal is about? As for you, do you know by signing this treaty, we are not only get uranium but also the technique for non-uranium based reactors for which the raw material is in abundant supply in India. most of the people coming and writing in these blogs have there own openion, you too one of them.. so be polite if u need respect from others.
