Left and BJP
by Joy Abraham on Jul 19, 2008 05:19 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The vote bank of both left and BJP are Hindus. So they fear that the other will eat his cake, especially the left has that fear in Kerala. This is the root cause of conflict between the two - it is not ideology or secularism or communalism.

In most other similar cases, two parties having something in common will try to work together. It is impossible for Left and Cong to be toghther because in Kerala and to some extent in Bengal and Tripura, these two are the main parties of that state. The simple rule of coalition is that no coalition is possible at centre or state, between parties who are No1 and No2 parties in any State.

He is Bepandi ka Lauta
by Chander Malik on Jul 19, 2008 05:15 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Can any one guess how much he got to switch political party? He was first with Cong then SP and now with BSP. Tomorrow he will be with BJP and then left. Such MP only change parties for their own interest not national interest. He is feeling uneasy on nuclear deal from so many days cos he does not want electricity in UP. He wants people to be illitrate, live in poverty so that he can keep making them fool. He would not be knowing ABC of nuclear deal but opposing it. Just to make any in such times. Bad luck of India that it has MP of such stature.

weigh the merits and demerits
by Joy Abraham on Jul 19, 2008 05:11 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Most people here view nuclear deal with communal angle. Muslims think this deal will strengthen USA, and so oppose it. Hindus also think this deal will strengthen USA who is fighting muslims and so support the deal.

Muslims will say this deal is against Indias interests and so they oppose it. Hindus will say this deal is in favour of India and they support it.

But many BJP followers are in real trouble here. On one hand they cannot support congress and at the same time they cannot oppose the deal. What I find is that most of those young BJP sympathisers are pretentending to be MMS supporters here, though they are anti-congress.

Why all this complication? Please try to understand if this deal will help India to what extent and what losses we will suffer. then come to a judgement - is some 20000MW electricity generated by 2015-2020 worth the risks - Possible Security Council miltary action or sanctions, Always keep US happy in order to keep getting the fuel, risk of fuel suppy stoppage after we spent all the money to build the power plants ...and so on.

No complication.. If US wants to control india, it need not sign any deal... It need not have any Hyde act.... The way our parliamentarians are behaving, it seems anybody can buy them...

Your last para tells all. That is why BJP is opposing the deal in it's present form. There is no confusion in young and old. The show is of how badly you long for the kickbacks and to what extant you want to stoop.
