BJP's Hypocrisy
by All Right on Jul 19, 2008 10:38 AM  Permalink

India tested two times. Both times we attracted trade and nuclear sanctions. Pokhran II test under NDA regime also

prompted the US to constitute the NSG - curbing our right to nuclear trade. As a result for want of spares and fuel, our

capacity utilization of reactors started declining.

If we test now, sanctions will hit India's growth story which has already taken some blows due to global inflation. Unlike

previous times, the deal permits us to test if other countries test.

There is also an unofficial ban on nuclear testing. This is why no country has tested a nuclear device for decades.

All countries instead opt for computer simulation using past test results. This is also why Pokhran II was not confined to a

single test but involved a series of 5. Once that was achieved, Vajpayeee in 1999 and Jaswant Singh assured the world on

the floor of the UN that India will unilaterally and permanently cease to test nuclear devices.

BJP's Hypocrisy

The BJP makes a huge noise that MPs are being purchased. Can the the price of MPs spiral without BJP making counter

bids? Can independent MPs for 4 1/2 years join BJP now without money changing hands?

That BJp is also a master of bribing is demonstrated by their party unit in Karnataka. There opposition MLAs are given Rs 5

crores plus cabinet berths. The latter are made to resign their seats and seek re-election under BJP symbol.

Almost 50% of BJP MLas are controlled by the Bellary Mining Mafia

BJP's Hypocrisy

The monsoon have so far failed Karnataka. The BJP Power Minister observed "If monsoon fails, only God can save the state"

Yet, the BJP votes against the Deal that promises to increase power supply.

They do so for short-term gains. But the medium to long term as people face power cuts, load-shedding, unable to use agricultural gensets, industries facing power shortage lays off people etc, the people of India will spit on Advani on Karat and the parties which they head

The Monsoon have also failed in Kerala, the left ruled communist state. Power Cuts/Load shedding, Low voltage, Interruption, all these are common affair in this state. The CPM objects the Civilian Nuke-Power Deal ?? and going to vote against in parliament. Look the double play !!!

People dont have a right to complain
by rajkiran on Jul 18, 2008 11:48 PM  Permalink

a) We educated middle class dont have a right to complain when we dont go out to vote.

b) We dont have a right to complain when we reject MMS (note: mms lost election) and we vote Pappu yadav with record majority of votes.

c) We dont have a right to complain when we give such a fractured mandate.

It is easy to point the mistake towards those uneducated poor, but the fact is we just complain but do not vote. We are averse to considering politics as a career and leave it only to criminals.

Criminal Anti national act
by ANAND TEERTHA on Jul 18, 2008 06:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is unfortunate that Cong-I has been buying MPs and targetting to reach ONLY 273 votes and to keep this nations fate at the feet of the foreign nations for the next 40 years. It is totally unjustified,ill-logical and illegal, since we elect a government for a term of five years only.Had two tirds members with sufficient knowledge if votes on N-Deal, it is acceptable with a rider from the voters.

Don't cry. This is truth of both Cong or BJP. They don't have choice but to depend on criminals.... Public is more responsible for selecting such candidates.... Its a problem with ourselves being a dishonest society... How many people in this country respect MMS for his honesty, integrity???? He might find more support outside india...

How do you assume the integrity and honesty of MMS? If he is honest he would have resigned on the very day itself.

state of the nation
by Madhav Ambedkar on Jul 18, 2008 06:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is indeed a sad state of the nation. No matter what our political affiliations are-one thing is sure-that today the grand idea of India has become hostage to myopic vision of regional parties who would do anything for frivilous issues like renaming an airport, minister post, creating a new state or reservation to a particular group etc.The mainstream parties Congress and BJP must work towards encouraging pan-Indian view amongst the people which in turn would be accelarated by strenghtening of two party system in the country.Wake up people before its late!!

Madhav Ambedkar, we are awake but does it matter? The ones in the all important positions are sleeping now having had a great party at our expense....

Wondering why food prices are rising? I told you they were partying for the past 4 years.....thousands of tonnes of food and beverages were diverted there....no wonder we feel the pinch :-)

Though you make an important point, I dont agree with you. Development of states like AP, TN, MH etc. happened only due to regional parties. Also, Guj and Kar. developed when even national parties got into "regional" mode.

So, ask people to kick out opportunistic parties or more importantly the corrupt MPs.

This is what you get when MMS is not elected by people and people vote for Pappu yadav! We, middle class lose the right to complain when we dont vote! .. We can see that in recent b'lore elections where voting % is just 44

"Honest, Upright, Man of Integrity, Intellectual, Statesman, Economist..."

To all that add, "not above playing gutter politics", or should that read as, not 'below' playing gutter politics?

A man can be honest, but not necessarily honourable......A man can be honourable but not necessarily honest. MMS was never honourable as a politician and now he is dishonest too......

Therefore, MMS is neither honest nor honourable.

Present Political Scenario
by Shharad Gotecha on Jul 18, 2008 05:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Now it is apparent that none of our political leafers have morale and it is a sheer waste of our valuable votes and this horse trading has put the democratic value of the country to a SHAME. Convicted crimials in JAIL are alllowed to vote which can make or break the country. The Courts, with due regards to them, unfortunately has sccumb to the pressure of erstwhile ruling party and has put a big question on the morale value which it is supposed to maintain. It also means that the honourable judges also can be biased and allow something they even though consider wrong. What is that these politicians are giving to our coming generation. SHAME SHAME SHAME

ur 100% right. Its not actually the politicians or media, which are more in public light, but the executive and judiciary, who are more to blame. Also, our education system is the root of our future which is diluted. That jeopardises all good efforts. there are good and bad people everywhere, it is ordinary people who can do extra-ordinary things and make the difference.
