Look at what BJP is doing in Karnataka.Making Congress MLAs cabinet ministers, making them resign their seats and contest again-what a mockery of the system. I agree with another comment here on rediff-More than 50% of their Karnataka MLAs are controlled by the mining mafia.

CONGRESS CAN ALSO HAVE 280 (272 8) I.E . FULL MAJORITY , IF THEY HANDOVER BABA RAM RAHIM TO SIKHS/AKALIS.
The monsoon have so far failed Karnataka. The BJP Power Minister observed "If monsoon fails, only God can save the state"
Yet, the BJP votes against the Deal that promises to increase power supply.
They do so for short-term gains. But the medium to long term as people face power cuts, load-shedding, unable to use agricultural gensets, industries facing power shortage lays off people etc, the people of India will spit on Advani on Karat and the parties which they head
The BJP makes a huge noise that MPs are being purchased. Can the the price of MPs spiral without BJP making counter bids? Can independent MPs for 4 1/2 years join BJP now without money changing hands?
That BJp is also a master of bribing is demonstrated by their party unit in Karnataka. There opposition MLAs are given Rs 5 crores plus cabinet berths. The latter are made to resign their seats and seek re-election under BJP symbol.
Almost 50% of BJP MLas are controlled by the Bellary Mining Mafia
India tested two times. Both times we attracted trade and nuclear sanctions. Pokhran II test under NDA regime also prompted the US to constitute the NSG - curbing our right to nuclear trade. As a result for want of spares and fuel, our capacity utilization of reactors started declining.
If we test now, sanctions will hit India's growth story which has already taken some blows due to global inflation. Unlike previous times, the deal permits us to test if other countries test.
There is also an unofficial ban on nuclear testing. This is why no country has tested a nuclear device for decades.
All countries instead opt for computer simulation using past test results. This is also why Pokhran II was not confined to a single test but involved a series of 5. Once that was achieved, Vajpayeee in 1999 and Jaswant Singh assured the world on the floor of the UN that India will unilaterally and permanently cease to test nuclear devices.

MY CLONE:
Pokhran II didn't happen in 1975 -- which is when NSG was constituted..... but your research on this front is as erratic as all other "facts " you are spreading on this forum... . . ;-)
The deal DOES NOT permit us to test under any condition..... so don't spread that myth on the forum either.... :-)
There is NO UNOFFICIAL BAN ON NUCLEAR TESTING... this is another one of your imaginary "facts" to appear on this forum... ;-)
Finally Jaswant and Vajpayee did NOT assure the world that India will unilaterally and permanently cease to test nuclear devices.... another one of your "facts".... ever heard of a term "voluntary moratorium"?.... there is nothing "unilateral" nor "permanent" about it...
So stop spreading your myths on this forum..... better enter a story telling competition... you might get this year's Bookers prize for fiction...
There is a provorb in villages; i.e. Mother-in-law wants see her daughter-in-law becomes widow, knowing well her own son would have to die". Here it applies to all other parties who wants to pull the Govt. (including BJP) All these lefties and other opposion parties know that Nuclear Deal is good, but they want to oppose for political reasons. In principle BJP in favour of Nuclear deal, but for the sake of it they are opposing. It is for the first time so much importance has been given to vote of confidence in Parliament. Long live Indian politics.
We would have been happy if Left and BJP would have opposed the proposal of rise in their salary!!!!! It is very clear that hence forth Neuclear Power will play major role in energy sector and the fuel in use is available with the counries who are in agreement with. We have no any option but to sign and off course not at the cost of Country's security and but for survival
