state of the nation
by Madhav Ambedkar on Jul 18, 2008 06:37 PM  Permalink

This is indeed a sad state of the nation. No matter what our political affiliations are-one thing is sure-that today the grand idea of India has become hostage to myopic vision of regional parties who would do anything for frivilous issues like renaming an airport, minister post, creating a new state or reservation to a particular group etc.The mainstream parties Congress and BJP must work towards encouraging pan-Indian view amongst the people which in turn would be accelarated by strenghtening of two party system in the country.Wake up people before its late!!

I feel the congress is expediting the whole issue and the cpm has withdrawn the support and brought the govt to the brink of falling is simply an eye wash. the cpm is following the policy of Bamboo hatao lakdi lagao. The leftthemseleves has brokered the deal between congress and samajwadi party. after the govt. sails through the nuclear issue the left will again start supporting the congress because they were only aginst the nuclear agreement and they can do any thing to keep the comunal forces away from the power. At the moment they have succeded in drawing the peoples attention away from the growing prices/rentals etc.as the only thing in the media is the vote of confidence. Why didn't the left withdraw the support on the issue of skyrocketing prices insteed of nuclear issue is the question they should answer. they didn't do this because if they would have withdrawn support against the rising prices then samajwadi party or no other party (thinking of the coming election) would have supported the congress and the govt. would have collapsed.

Responsibility lies with CPM
by Patriot on Jul 18, 2008 04:42 PM  Permalink

The entire responsibility for the entire crisis lies with CPM only. They encouraged the Government to go to the IAEA and then withdrawn support to the Government when the PM is n foreign tour bringing indignity to Nation

We are seeing this drama from the last 15 years or so in some way or other, but nobody is talking about political reforms, at least when such situation is at ease. In this way, the pace of countrys progress is hampered.

Sabse best career seems to be politics. No worry of oil price, no tension of inflation, need not bother about lay-offs, I.T boom, real estate boom, economy slow down....nothing.

First read the Act then act
by kandalam srinivas on Jul 18, 2008 04:22 PM  Permalink

I got surorised to see that many blogs are flying sround about the nuclear deal, the persons line Mr, Man Mohan Singh and Mr. Karat are going to decide the fate surprosingly both are nnot even qualified to vote for this in this parliament. What is this going sround. When crude oil prices are touching the sky, the commin man is suffering in the hands of inflation and uncertainity of the future media is playing the game like cricket. What will happen on July 22nd ? This country has seen many July 22nds not ready to see any more on this. I request all of you not to question the integrity of Dr, Man Mohan Singh. Believe that we are fortunate have PM Like Singh and Mr.Bajpai. They are real patriats of this country. I strongly belive that they wont put our nation into Sale. The same applies to Leftist parties. They are some idelogical differences and could not be sorted out. Whether India signs Nuclear deal or not that is not question. The real question is now emerging that how the media is tackling this isse like one day international. This rediff front is having many intellctuals like nuclear engineers and scientists who can develop the technology . The world knows the capabilites. I am in pain to see many messages are published without even reading the agreement throughly. I dare to ask that How many MPs read the deal completely. On 22nd July who wins is the secondary question but how many of us realised that we lost the democracy much ahead of that. I request all political part
