This has helped clear many missconception regarding the 123 drama.

mind reading

Being a biographer may have given him mind reading skills. He seems to be knowing precisely why US undertook this deal and what Pakistan and China thinks of it.

He may be on firmer on one matter. the additional protocols he refers to are probably implementation specific. If they are not, it is worth a wait before judging the nature of the deal.

We need to see the deal as an Apex agreement which permits dual-use technologies. For instance we do not manufacture IC chips yet, while China the so called strategic contender for US, has been provided with over a dozen such plants.

There is no reason for India to continue in this technology denial mode.

The Denial is Not in Technology.

It is the Denial of the Con-gress Govts which did not give Proper Funding to Indian Research.
Also, Abt the Licenses in Establishing proper Educational and Research Institutes.

Indians are Capable of Developing technologies themselves. But Merit is being Put to Unnecessary pressures. SO All Indian Intellectuals after a Tough Unnecessary fight for just securing an Admission in a good Institute Are getting more interested in Money and either Running away from india or Going into Management.

There is the Real Denial. And It is by the Con-Gress And its Splinter Groups.

TheOneAndOnly thinks technology is the only problem. Where will the fuel come from??

Besides, as any engineer/scientist will vouch, While technology can be developed for almost anything that's possible to do, it is the time taken for it that makes the difference.

Why reinvent a wheel, if there is an alternative?

The Real Question is

What is the Cost-Effectiveness of the Alternative ?

As per the DAE itself, The Known Uranium Mines in India can serve the Needs of the Nation for till 2110 AD. i.e., Another 100 yrs.

Con-gress is just Bluffing the nation with Falso Propaganda.

N-DEAL....
by Rakesh Sharma on Jul 18, 2008 05:35 PM  Permalink

Very good article....This is what I have been writing for a long time. When goverments led by successive parties whether congress, BJP or third front have refused to sign the NPT or CTBT, how can we support a N-Deal which treats us as third rate power and not belonging to the Nuclear Power Group. This is signing of NPT or CTBT through the back door...Even Indiraji and Rajeevji would have been dead against this deal for selling the interests of our country....

Why Not try Thorium....
by Varadarajan Kannan on Jul 18, 2008 05:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I feel we have spent enough time, money and energy on shouting for this deal. Our Former President Mr Kalam has been outcrying to invest on Thorium based power plants. Why Not we focus on this. India has the 2nd largest base of Thorium reserves. If we really invest and direct our scientist on inventing this, we can be the new leader in Nuclear Technology.
Instead of politicising the issue, let us not proceed with the deal and concentrate on how to become self sufficient.
I think if India invest more on correcting the distribution lines we can provide uninteruppted power to most of the places. Author has said we have only 25% loss on distribution. My guesstimate will be about 35 to 40% being wasted due to un-maintained distribution lines and another 10% is lost due to the mis-use of Electrical power in most of the places including big cities
Why not People like us have the option to vote for this. After all it is of national interest and We people form this nation.

As per the Official Stats, T&D Losses are 25%. Technically, They should not exceed 13%. Means, 12% is Theft.

To Stop This, You will have to Kick on the Street Your Own Neighbours and MLAs and MPs.
Some Specific Communities are Habitual Power Theifs. And On a Regular Basis, The Politicians before the Elections Promise to Waiver the Bills of those Communities.

Unless this Menace is Tackled on the Street and In the Courts, The Power Thefts Cannot be Eliminated.

Let us Resolve to Campaign against this Culture And Make India a Prosperous Nation.

US Trap
by Sridhar skylab on Jul 18, 2008 05:12 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

US is using a trap (IAEA) to trap india where it uses the honey coated words like this deal will improve indias energy needs. And this deal is good for indian economy. Here our people are going to trapped by Mr.MMS and This waste UPA members.

There was a joke yesterday given by Mr.Rahul Gandhi that this deal is going to give lot of employment opportunity for our people. This is called half-boiled maturity of this politician. Another talk was given by Mrs.Sonia about patriotism, we know already about her patriotism during indo pakistan war.

All congress are cheaters.
