DEAL or NO DEAL?
by Krishnan Venkataraman on Jul 18, 2008 05:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I have long been a regular reader of T.V.R. Shenoy whether here or the website of NewInd Express He writes with power and conviction and is able to carry the reader along with him. God should bestow him with long and healthy life!

It is quite apparent now it is a "lose - lose" situation for UPA.

Here is an irnory !
About the Speaker, if anyone refers to the Government’s published list on website of the Lok Sabha Members this is what she or he will find:

“Chatterjee,Shri Somnath
CPI(M)
Bolpur(West Bengal”

Suddenly how come, he has become independent of any party?

It is obvious he wants to join the flock ( the congress) to whom he rightfully belongs !!

Deal
by Puneet Rajhans on Jul 18, 2008 05:04 PM  Permalink

Imam has been apprised about the nuances of the nuclear deal. Probably to do with the fact that he is an emerging authority on the deal or the one who has followed the same in detail. He is able to take time out (each day) to study the deal and point out its strengths and shortcomings. Perhaps that would have been the reason for the SP duo to park themselves at his courtyard. This is the most appropriate case of representing facts to an authority who can sway the numbers for the government. Perhaps the Imam adherents are swelling by the day in the House.
Given the logic with which the backers to the government work, it has a task cut out for itself. It has drawn a long list of skeptics who are to be briefed about the deal. The next guest could have been Haji. But since he is off radar the search for skeptics continue.
Reports have it that Dawood too has some misgivings about the deal. Since Dawood is not in the country and his whereabouts are not known, the government could send an SOS to Pakistan, explaining the urgency to touch base with him as the tryst with the trust vote approaches fast. The state of Pakistan has to oblige us, notwithstanding the lack of trust the two countries face on the visibility / invisibility of Dawood in Pakistan. Learning this, Maya has decided to enslave a new set of friends. Her immediate agenda is (government or no government) a continuity in accretion of wealth. Because any break would stall her grand design of setting a new order. T

True Colors
by Sanjeev Gupta on Jul 18, 2008 04:57 PM  Permalink

This entire drama has done one thing for sure..
It has only exposed that all politicians are alike..and poilitics is a very lucrative career...but a murky business to be in..Which learned guy from the elite institutes can earn 25 crores overnight, whereas see our jailed MPs, they are bagging 25crores without a burp...as 22nd July comes close the auction value will be hiked..

The saying was right...Politics is refuge of the scoundrel

Jayanti Natarajan challenged A.B. Bardhan to prove 25 cr. deal. Now 25-30 cr is a living truth in Indian politics. Cruel politicians are bribing, purhcasing not MPs, but cutting throat of Indian poor for George Bush.

Democracy will win

The experience of IT, auto, textile and services makes us feel that N deal is one such thing that we need in future. We people believe that democracy will bring things for the benefit of people and country. The people are watching what all goes in the process also.
