The position of the speaker is above all and we must keep our democratic value above all. We believe that people like Mr. Somnath Chaterjee keep those values.

The speaker is a political position. In the US it would be ridiculous to assume Nancy Pelosi (House Speaker) or Dick Cheney (Senate President) are apolitical.

Atleast in west bengal the CPM is like the biggest gunda party, the CPM workers take gunda-tax from each and every factory on per day basis, yes but the factories buy the peace by paying that tax.
The CPM leaders, who are so called marxist are multi billionaires, there are no communist like S A Dange , Namboodaripad or jyotirmay basu.
Present lot of CPM is just a confused lot, trying to spuuort migration from Bangladesh, give then ration card and they become loyal voters.
The intellectual bengalis have left or trying to leave bengal. If we leave behind last 3-4 years of budhadev (who is developement oriented) west bengal was the capital of sick industries.
On top of this so called senior leader loksabha speaker, can not give up the speaker post, He is even ready to relingquish the MP position for that, (i.e. ready to pay all price).
imagine what would happen if he or such commies get PM chair. Come what may they would not leave even if they have to sell the country.
Somanath Chatterji is not a small ordinary person in the party where Prakash Karat can take decision at his own level. Somanath is a very senior person in the party and so prakash karat should have discussed everything with him before taking a decision. If Karat is not taking the Senior Most person in the party into confidence and issue orders in the capacity as President of the party, such conflict is bound to happen.

CPM is too small in strength comparing to the BJP. BJP is not a 2 1 (KBT) State party. They have grown upto a level to rule India, where as CPM is still a "Crying Baby" in front of them. CPM could not grow even after decades in India.

hello mr.george.You dont know any thing about CPM.In CPM karat cannot take decision himself. It is the politburo which decides about important national issues.Only after discussion in central committee of CPM that karat will explain the final decision of the party to media.this will be followed by future discussion (post mortem) ahead of party congress in various ground levels like D.C,L.C,A.C and branch committee(B.C.) who decides the future of prakash karat.

It is purely day dreaming thinking that BJP will not make it to power now. it is similar to people thinking the same about Congress before 2004 elections. In India, you get elected not for your performance but for your rival's lack of it. neways, what these communists got in 2004 was a windfall gain and this time, they will be thrown back to their actual aukaat of 30-35 seats. that too from their hostage- West Bengal
No old person more than 55 should have active part in politics. However Somnath decision is hailworthy, but his remarks about BJP calling it non-secular is not appreciated. BJP MPs are also elected like left MPs, such type of remarks by speaker is an insult to democracy.

Absolutely Right...!! but insult to democracy....isnt that the only thing these communists know..!!
Communists are the real Pests and Parasites of this Country. All they do is misguiding the youths and converting them into scumbags.
These Chinese Bootlickers are bunch of Cowards and filthiest Corrupt elements from the very inception. Whoever voted them must be ashamed of such idiotic, useless and anti-civil paries.

Becoz still we have traitore people like Sahadevan KK in india
I dont know why this country keeps wasting its time on historically irrelevant communists. They have ruined USSR. China had to take refuge under capitalistic economic policies. What different are our reds going to offer !!!!

YES SAHADEVAN...PLEASE TELL US..WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU IN...THE SATAN OR THE DEVIL?
It is true that west Bengal has unbroken record of sending the maximum numbers of left MPs and still it has no say in CPM Politbureau .
CPM politbureau has been hijacked by rootless fellows like Prakash Karat & power brokers like Yechury who have not won even a municipal elections.
These fellows have thrown out Jyoti Babu and prevented bengal leftist to occupy any important position in CPM.Karat is like Greg chappel who showed finger to Kolkat ,same way Karat/Yechury showed finger to Somnath da when Somnath da wanted to contest Vice president .. CPM politbureau is full of oppurtunist like Karat & Yechry who are opposed to west bengal welfare..although they derive power from MPs ..
I think Bongs are realising that they are being taken for a ride for far too long!!!!
See how Sourav being the best Asian criketer of the yea with avg of more than 50 , was dropped by BCCI.. Just like useless Surjit dropped Jyoti bau for aspiring to be a PM ( no opposition to Gowda,Gujral etc.. as better candidadte) Jyoti Babu called it historical blunder.. Bengal shed blood, sweat and tears for Indian freedom but were excluded from power at center..it has been shared by all including scondrels, corrupt but bengal..
Wake up you bongs to know what is going on over here
RE:Bongs are gullible!!! how CPM (CPM politbureau is fooling them..)

Dear Mr. Narain
I fully agree with u... I think this is the high time that these parasites who cant even win a Municipal election should be thrown out of Central Committee...
The speaker is supposed to be unbiased, for him all political parties in the parliament should be equal. But this man is clinging on to the speaker’s post by citing the reason that he detests the idea of voting with the BJP. Which is a clear case of bias and morally he should step down. Especially when the parliament is voting on a crucial issue a person with biased opinion should not be occupying speaker's chair.
If in case on the day of voting the speaker's vote becomes decider, what is he going to do? Is he going to vote against his own party's agenda? By which, is he not betraying his own party and the ideology it stands for? In that case, he would be a man and politician of no ethics.
One more question to Mr Chaterjee, is the interest of the nation or voting against BJP more important? For a statesman, interest of the nation is more important, if NPT is in the interest of the country he will vote for it otherwise against it. If tomorrow on an issue of crucial national interest, say an enemy nation targetting India, will he still vote against the national interest because he doesn't want to vote with the BJP.
Mr Chaterjee either lacks the vision of a statesman or just wants to cling to the position at all cost, even at the cost of the nation.
