Impartiality of speaker and BJP
by Anil Bharali on Jul 16, 2008 11:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BJP suddenly become concern about the impartiality of speaker.Every body knows BJP didnot allow Somnath chatterjee to function well as speaker. After resignation, he will not be a speaker any more in office so the question of impartiaility of speaker doesnot arise thereafter.

Anil, Speaker need not wait any one to allow him to function well, if Somnath made Indians to feel so then it is clear he is inefficient, he should be kicked out! From the time India got independence there was never a speaker who won the hearts of tax payers of India!!!

It is same LEFT who is fighting with congress in Kerala and other parts since so many years .. it is the same LEFT who wanted to end congress dynasty rule in india ..

But what happened .. when they saw a link to taste the power, they gave the support to cong.

So let LEFT say anything .. they are most cheap party .. tommorrow, if possible they can extend their support to anybody if shown a taste of power.

Left ko khoon moo lag gaya hai power ka.

Power hungry commie
by dev singh on Jul 16, 2008 11:35 PM  Permalink

Agree. This commie has tested the power for 4 years and he does not want to give it up so easily. At 79 all that he wants is another year of comfort and in turn he will faithfully serve SuperPM. He does not need CPM anymore.

As long as Somnath Chaterjee remains Speaker he is above politics. If he resigns he would be back with CPI(M) and will have to vote with the left & BJP.On the other hand having accepted the position of Speaker he has been above politics and remain so till the end of this Lok Sabha. After that he should quit CPI(M) and be chosen President of India. He has the stature.

I don't believe so. He is not running away from who he is. He wants to help Congress (UPA) by remaining as Speaker and claiming he is above party politics. Having tested power he has become a Congressman now.

Mahesh...he has become greedy and at 79 he cannot expect salary, perks and other luxury. So he wants to enjoy. he can never become speaker again. When UPA is kicked out he will be out of media coverage and peopls' mind...he has been useless so far anow he is a thorn in democracy!

the issue is whether he personally, or as representative of his constituency -favors the deal or not.the issue is Not if he is communal, or his daughter marrying rahul gandhi, or jothi basu sending him matka of rassagullas. Why do you mix up politics into everything. politics is the foremost disease in this country!

Somnath Chatterjee and his partiality
by rajiv kulkarni on Jul 16, 2008 11:14 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In our country there is no post which is impartial, be it the President's or The Speaker's post. At times they may appear to be impartial but heart of heart they remain partial. We can not do without partiality. He is the most partial speaker we ever had in the Indian Parliament. This was evident on several occassions during sessions. I don't understand why is he so much dead against BJP ? After his tenure which party is he going to go back ? Obviously CPM. He is in favour of N-Deal because he does not want to vote with BJP. His party is opposing it and therefore either he has to fall in line with party or quit politics forever or form a new party or join congress. He was elected for Spakear's post because his party supported Congress and hence party is higher than an individual. Now CPM is against the deal, how can he have different view ? If he is really impartial he should say that I am in favour of N-Deal and if my party is not in favour of it, I resign without taking name of any party and should not say that he does not want tow the BJP line.

Rajiv
