DMK has indeed treated Maran like dirt and have had this extremely capable Minister shown the door at the Central Ministry. He should now pay back in the same coin. If the DMK has no use for him, why should he care, when the DMK chips are down.

Maran was treated like dirt because he is a very capable administrator and ws becoming popular. Karunanidhi and his terrorist/mafia clans do not like any one else coming in the way of their dynastic oppression of Tamils.

Dayanidhi Maran was very professional , compared to Azhaaagira, ( splleing amy be wrong) and Stalin. My Tamil friends tell me that son living in Madurai is a gone case. I also lived in TN for some time. This natak politics of TN is one of a kind. Greater than Truman show, Jerry springer and American wrestling. Very wholesome entertainment, Very inexpensive and throughly enjoyable

Dyanidi Maran is doing more damage to himself and his reputation by abstaining from next Tuesday's crucial votings. He may attract disqualification for disobeying the party whip.He may in the bargain be expelled from the party. The prestige is at stake for DMK and any deviation from the official stand would attrack the wrath of the top leadership. Dayanidhi Maran what he is today was only due to his association with DMK. He got MP seat in the young age and also became the youngest Minster with important portfolio. This was due to the magnanimity shown by Karunanidhi to him.He should not forget this. He may have personal problems and grievances with his grandpa, but that should not alter his stand towards the party that has elected him to the coveted post. Besides, the number game is crucial and even a single vote would be crucial to decide the fate of the Govt. In this contex it is advisable to Maran to toe the official line and air his grievance with his grandpa Karuna in different forum. If he no regard for him, he should quit the party and resign from the Parliament uholding the highest tradition of parliamentary democracy. One cannot have a cake and eat it too. In the end, it would be impossible for UPA to win the Trust Vote as it is still short by 15 votes.The independent and other splinter groups may support depending upon the inducement they receive for such support.These groups may also cause headache for PM in future with their constant threat and demand.Be careful.

How will resigning at this juncture help? It will again be one vote less for the UPA. If Maran owes something to the DMK the reverse is also true. The UPA brought on all the miseries themselves.
MK Family members, all, are very very clever in separating family matters and politics. Hey, Indians, be patient to c the climax of the drama MK family is staging. Cleverploy.

Yes. Because of this deal, Indian youths will be getting 2 jobs at time time after 30 Years. Maran, Pls vote.
DMK won the elction in 2006 due to Dayanidhi's poll strategy. The old man would never spend a pie. It was Dayanidhi who spent nearly 1 cr per constituency to ensure DMK win. Afterall the entire part is indebted to him. MK, after all has trounced EVK Sampath, Nedunchelian, Anbalagan to become CM in 1967. And Dayanidhi attempted the same in 2007. Nothing wrong.
It is a clever plan by Maran with Karunanidhi.Maran being "soooo upset" will demand not the standard rate of Rs 25 cr but possibly Rs 250 cr.Out of that he will pay Rs 125 cr to Karuna.So Karuna gets booty while still in UPA.Isn't that a great idea?(If idea cellular wants to use this idea please pay me Rs 25 Cr!!!)

Agree.Idea Cellular can now replace Abhishek with Maran.Maran can offer to do the advt free since he has good contacts with all Cellcos.Thus Idea will save on modeling cost and every one gets paid by Congress! That's another great idea! (Idea Cellular-25 cr for me please!!)
