Please confirm at the beginning whether you are ready for the following before agreeing to the deal:

1. are you ready to pay 4 times the electricity bill than you now pay. We need lights.. you are right but at what cost? Can those people in the villages who find it hard even to earn their daily food manage to pay for that?

2. are you ready to allow US to dictate India's foreign policies (it has already started with India voting against Iran somewhat risking the Iran Gas Pipeline deal which would have been a breakthrough in solving India's energy crisis)

3. The side effects of the nuclear fuel dumping.. (These dumpings in Jadugoda had its effects on the people of the locality, 62% of women suffer from miscarriages in pregnancy, 70% of the children are born cripple, avarage timetime of people over there is about 45 years)

4. Do you know that this deal has no relations with our nuclear weapons program.. This is just for electricity generation for our household..

5. The main reason to push this deal is that this deal will allow almost all political parties to benefit hugely (financially)

6. Instead if we had opted for solar energy/thermal energy plants that would have been much more cost efficient..

Choice is yours..

Always you look at negative points. Donot highlight positive features. The Petrol has gone up by 50 times during the last 30 years, How many of us stopped using vehicles due to hike in petrol price? What about you?

From past 30 yrs you have wasted so much of energy in form of SOLAR did you ever thought of using it in your house ?
Using nuclear is always unsafe what ever form it is.

India will be another dumping place for US.
They will dump the nuclear reactor product to India.
I think its better GOVt should force all Builder/house maker to Install solar energy which is going waste everyday. Again Its a free of cost except the Initial Cost.

N.DEAL
by Subramanian on Jul 21, 2008 03:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The present issue is whether to go nuclear or remain conservative. We have already set up so many nuclear plants and most of them were set up by USSR. The communes were silent when the initiative was from USSR and now want to show their patriotism and raise their voice against US and not it is against nuclear energy. It is time now for the parliamentarians and those voters to use their brain and mind and not their color alone in deciding the issue. Long live Democracy.

I don't know whether the left is right or not. All I know is that where U.S is involved, any decision should be taken with utmost care also keeping in mind that a nuclear reactor would be a very good target for Terrorists.

Dear Subhabrata,
Let me answer your concerns:
1. With the new technology the cost of the electricity will be Rs.2.50/unit.
2. We voted against Iran not because of USA as it was our own decision and in politics, sometimes we have to choose who can be a better ally. we have voted so many times for USSR but it never helped us esp. in the case of China.
3. Side effect I agree, its very much there, so are the side effects of the pollution caused by our industries, its just that we have to take precautions, which even nature tells to keep an eye on.
4. Its not true, we are free to do what all we want to and the UN won't keep a watchdog on our reactors. Our current need is power and not the bomb.
5. Agree, but which deal hasn't benefited the politicians.
6. Solar energy, its still in its infancy and its costs will be Rs.20/unit. Are you willing to pay that much? We need to work on the solar technology so that its price comes down to Rs.2/unit.
Choice is yours....

As a resposible voter, all to analyse what exactly happening now and should teach them lessons when go to polling stations next. Is it right, UPA offer berths for all criminals to get the support and attain the number? P.S. Viswambharan, Bangalore

2 or 3 party parliment system
by Lokesh Mahajan on Jul 21, 2008 02:20 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think we are having too many party system, which at a times screwing up the development of our country, We should have not more than 3 national party. now a days its become fashion to create own rural party...these rural parties are taking tall on Indian economy... we are ending up in Hung parliament.. with 2 party system it will be more stable government..
Instability at centre leads to non-development.

This will also reduce the number of politician in India... And lesser the better.. what you say...

So if we have 2 party system we will have around 1000 Political leaders (contesting the election from both side) to deal with...

In the present system I think we have around 100,000 Political leaders who are contesting the election & remain some what influential in one way or the other
