The UPA's achievements despite global inflation creating a dent is actually praisworthy as noted by Business Standard:
"Start with the performance of the economy. Its growth rate last year has been upped from 8.7 per cent to 9 per cent, taking the average rate of growth in the four years of the Manmohan Singh government to 8.9 per cent. I cannot think of any other government that would not make a bit of a noise about such stellar success, and draw comparisons with the record of its predecessor (5.9 per cent over six years) — showing a jump of 50 per cent. Or take agriculture, whose annual growth during the UPA term has been 3.6 per cent — again a jump of nearly 50 per cent, and the best record since the 1980s."
Though urban India bears the brunt of inflation, farmers have more money in their hands like never seen before from the 80s. Urban India may have progressing at the cost of rural India for 3 decades now. So some re-distribution of wealth is a silver lining to inflation

MMS is erudite, honest, modest and a highly respected Prime Minister the world over.
He is self-effacing and has kept a low profile and taken on himself all the batterings and personal attacks from BJP and the Left without retaliating.
All Indians should support this deal .. he started the economic reforms when everyone was against his policies and now this deal.
I pray that he wins the trust vote and moves the deal forward and then concentrate on the inflation which India can get out of under his astute leadership.

Sharma. Why get conditioned by the propaganda of the Hindutva brigade. Today the world laughs at us Hindus - the only majority community in the world who demonstrates a minority complex.
In India Hindus are over 80% of the population (last Census carried out during NDA tenure). In the world 1 out of every 4 or 5 individual is a Hindu.

Mr.All Right 1 out of every 8 individual is a Hindu where 2.5 is muslim and 3.5 is Christian and 1 others. Greek,Rome and the whole Europe once consisted of nature worshippers who were called pagans after christianity was formed and was converted by Crusaders and Church and the leftover population by Muslim invaders.Asia starting from Arabia in west to Indonesia & Papua New Guinea islands in the east had once upon a time only Hindus in it.But now Hindus are there only in India that also approx 12.5% of total worlds population. The bitter experiences they had during the invaders reign had created such a comp[lex in them.Indias Hindu population includes Buddhists and Jains.Whole world used to laugh at hindus earlier also.World was earlier interested in India for the wealth she had and now for the vast market & business opportunities she is having(in either ways it is wealth) not for what we are.. Even though as Sharma told Pakistan is never going to sit on Indian head thats just a bad dream he had.
Energy needs of India are increasing exponentially. India would require 500-600 thousand MW of power by 2030 up from
132,110 at present. Thus nuclear power is one of the way forward for India to bridge this gap.
After oil, natural gas prices are next identified by global speculators for cascading price spiral. Economies of states like
Gujarat who are significantly dependent on natural gas are going to shortly take a huge hit.
Increased price of oil and gas internationally, issues of climate change associated with coal as well as the breakdown of
consensus on big dams has forced the country to re-look the viability of nuclear power.
So the next time we experience load shedding, power cuts, when our industrial growth plunges for lack of power, when
our agricultural growth plunges because farmers cannot power their gen-sets, accentuating global inflationary pressures
etc we will know who to spit on?
Advani and Prakash Karat and their respective parties are going to end up hate symbols among common people of India. With load shedding in Karnataka, people are already spitting on them.

Both BJP and Left are playing with national interest. They have spread fear about the deal to the common public.
Sadly, our voters in India do not think about national issues while voting, they just think about local politics and, they are influenced only by emotional issues, not any developmental issues.

Both Left and BJP may gain in the short-term. But in the long term, when the gap between supply-demand of power grows, then they will face a huge backlash.
In the Left, oldies like Jyothi Basu knows this. In the BJP a host of leaders except Advani knows this. Naredra Modi, Vajpayee, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj etc They are keeping mum. Instead they send that imbecile loud moth Rajiv Pratap Modi to make an ar*se of himself, opposing the deal.
So I won't be surprised if the BJP walks out of the confidence vote without voting or even abstains

- If BJP abstains, then it will be a master stroke.
BJP will allow the Govt. to survive, but eventually be eaten up by wolves like Amar Singh.
BJP will manage to save its middle class vote bank, emerge as a true Nationalist party and win election on a better term eating away the advantages gained by UPA on Nuclear deals and Economic Growth.
Also by abstaining and allowing the Communists to vote against, BJP will create a bigger rift between UPA and the Left.
I too have a similar feeling that BJP might abstain.
If only you shout and speak loud, You need not be an efficient leader. Only dirty politicans are known for it. Actions speak louder than words. Out actions give us credibility. Now anyone can examine, who did what for this country in their life. Not what they speak

News: When Left divides the secular votes, we [BJP and Congress] should come together: Abhishek Singhvi, Congress Spokesperson Comment: 12 spokepersons started working. Numbers are ready, however, calling. Media says BJP leadrs are in a secret meeting in Gujarat.
I think some of the people here are against the deal simply because their party opposes it. This is without understanding anything about the deal.
What is wrong in being an ally of the US? All the advanced nations are allies of the US. We should also become friends of the US and benefit from that friendship, financially and technologically.
China also signed a nuclear deal with the US long time back. Could the US change China's policy? No. Only the Indian Lefts are spreading that fear. Because China does not want India to have a similar deal with the US.
Can somebody throw some light as to the comparative cost of producing nuclear power and solar power as also wind power, which is supposed to be abundantly available in India - From Srinivasan Chennai

Please recall ENRON. That what our friend late Narsimha Rao and then Govt of Mahrashtra told was cure all of all Power Problems of Maharshtra. We are yet to see a kW of Power from ENRON.
Nuclear Power, I am afraid will meet the same fate.
Speed at which this Minority Govt is trying to push, it is not the cost of Power but Mega Bucks that Sonia Amma and PM are after and they have assured a pie to Singhs as well.

After we are looted by America they can withdraw the agreement any time. Total expense is about 11 lakh crores...
The clause on "Dispute Agreement" in our 123 merely says: "If any disagreement between the parties [India and the US] arises US will be negotiated and settled." This is an amazing blunder of the part of our negotiators of the 123 for which will pay a very high price in future. -- Ashok Parthasarathi, Scicence Adviser to former PM Indira Gandhi. '' The mistake that the enemies of the deal in India and the US are making is to seek satisfaction over their own wish list in the safeguards agreement. The negotiators have made sure that the safeguards agreement does not veer from the objectives of the nuclear deal. If anything, the Indian negotiators have ensured that the agreement does not impose new obligations on India.''

Markets are running high for MP'S and UPA is searching for MP's for their trust vote support and money / other favors are auctioning by US Forces through their agencies in India (see the history of money flown for the dismissal of first Communist Govt. in Kerala where US forces rained their money through christian missionaries). We want people should know about the danger ahead and the people who are selling the country doesn't deserve any pity and they should be treated as TRAITORS of this country and exemplarary punishements to be given who are involving and trying to buy MP's by giving monetary and other favors. Congress is responsible for this rotten democratic behaviour and Congress Leaderfship should be made accountable for this.
