Nuclear Deal
by sisir majumder on Jul 15, 2008 12:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think our beloved PM is pushing India into a trap in the name of nuclear deal. Why the deal was not made known to the public earlier,if it is beneficial for the national interest.Once the deal is placed, it is also clear that the deal will be governed by the bilateral 123 agreement. But the 123 agreement is untenable, because the agreement is anchored in US domestic laws, which include Hyde act. Hude act contains several stipulations which are extraneous to the issue of bilateral Nuclear Cooperation, including foreign policy and behaviour which India needs to adhere to--if the deal is to be kept alive. Some scientists argued and wanted to clarify-Decision taken today do not prohibit India's future ability to develop and pursue Nuclear Technologies for the benefit of the Nation. Govt. should go ahead with the deal considering all aspects. Ambiguity of the language of the deal must be taken into account. Our PM should not ignore the general consensus.

I am sure the sceintists and strategic experts of India have more brains then you. Therefore they went ahead with this deal. Agree or not all leftists only create problems for India and are more loyal to the Chinese. For your kind information it was only Pakis and Chinese who had sent their envoys to various countries to request them not to endorse the deal after July 18,2005. And here we are, unfortunately idiots like you are doing exactly what are notorious neighbours want.

The view of our PM is non to support for many reasons like:

1. The draft agreement with IAEA does recognised India onlt as nation with Advanced Nuclear Technology, whereas in fact, its should recognise India as Nation with Nuclear Weapons. This is required to protect Indian Interest in case of any disagreement that may arise later on. This is the first compromise our PM has made.

2. The deal with US will be subject to strictest safeguards which cover guidelines in existence as well that may be prescribed later by the IAEA. India cannot have any say for the same. This is our Second compromise.

3. When the deal was in favour of India, why the PM was hesitating to make it public and not showing to allies of UPA, whereas the IAEA has made it public within one day after PM has referred to it when our PM does not have Vote of Confidence at the moment. This is the incidence of Third Compromise

Dear PM, Please listen to voices of people of India and use your conscience & prudence.

SAVE INDIA - SATYA MEV JAYATE
4. There is no Guarante that it will be IAEA will compel the Members of IAEA to continue to provide nuclear fuel for civil reactors in the event if India make any test for Nuclear Devices / weapon at a later date. This is the Highest level of Compromise our PM has made - who has yet to prove his majority in Loksabha. People of India will never forget this type of Compromise made by our PM.

You are very much ignorant. China has not signed the same deal. They are under NPT. There policy is not guided by any US laws (like Hyde act in our case).
What's the matter? Sometimes you show china as worst country and sometime say to folllow them?

Both Left and BJP may gain in the short-term. But in the long term, when the gap between supply-demand of power grows, then they will face a huge backlash.

In the Left, oldies like Jyothi Basu knows this. In the BJP a host of leaders except Advani knows this. Naredra Modi, Vajpayee, Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj etc They are keeping mum. Instead they send that imbecile loud moth Rajiv Pratap Modi to make an ar*se of himself, opposing the deal.

So I won't be surprised if the BJP walks out of the confidence vote without voting or even abstains

If the deal is in favour of India and this is heartly known by BJP then what is the harm to join hands with Congress. Because this is country's matter forget about secular votes. Suppose by next general electction BJP may come power they should also proceed further in this matter then they may need hands of congresss. forget about the party politics and work for Indias progress. Mr. Vnkai Naidu has already told in Bangalore that BJP come in the power they will renegotiate it means they know the importance of deal. Forget about left, mayawati, and other small opportunist parties. BJP should join hands with congress and pass this bill unionmously and save government for another 8 to 10 months instead of snap poll.

f in Karnataka BJP can buy MLAs for Rs 5 crores plus Ministerial berths, Rs 25 crores seem cheap for a MP considering that Left through their newly found ally BSP and the BJP are in the market to give counter offers.

The BJP justifies their buying of MLAs on the basis that it gives stability to their state government. At least the Congress is doing this so that the nuclear can get though for national interests!

Lies and More lies by MMS
by Chakravarthy Muralidhar on Jul 15, 2008 12:47 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Every word of the PM, Manmohan Singh, on the 123-Nuke deal with US is a lie. He is now somehow emboldened to go on telling lies upon lies to get way on the seal. There is something unnervingly diabolic in the scheme of things on the Congress's and especially MMS's mind. Historically, the Congress party has betrayed the nation in each and every international treaty that it signed during its nearly 50 years of rule over this country. Take any deal, right from the Indo-Pak LOC in Kashmir Agreement in 1950, the Panchsheel friendship Treaty with China in 1959-60, Indo-Canadian Atomic Energy cooperation treaty of 1970, the Indo-Soviet Defence cooperation Treaty in 1980, the Indo-US Agreement on purchase and use of junked /scrapped US warships/ defence equipment in 2000, IMF treaty in 1990 and many minor treaties with Saudi, Iran, Libya, Oman, Yemen, etc. Except for the earliest ones with the erstwhile Soviets, not one of the other treaties have been of any use to India. In fact, India was the loser in all those deals without exception. Indian diplomats, bureaucrats and politicians including the PM seem to don the attire and attitude of beggars when they go out to negotiate treaties and agreements for the country. They come back with the refrain "this is the best India could ever get", and they try to force it on the nation. All these blackguards, including MMS, have their hidden treasures and cozy nests spirited away in Europe and US.They know that they have to sell the nation

to preserve secrecy and have access to all this ilgotten wealth in their twilight years, which they dream of enjoying in the company of their sons, daughters, etc, who are well settled in those countries. Besides, these traitors also know that they will be given permanent residency visas by US, Australian, Canadian and European governments only if they have been friendly cooperative and even worked in their favour during their tenure in power in this country!! In fact, the US has leveraged the position of former President Venkataraman's daughter in ATT-Bell to get huge telecom equipment deals in the late 80s and early 90s. Similarly during Yashwant Sinha's tenure as Finance Minister, the CitiBank made a killing on the Indian bourses using Sinha's daughter who was in a senior position in the Bank. At this very moment out of some 1400 senior bureaucrats (IAS, IFS, IPS, Revenue Services) and lok sabha MPs and Ministers, 1280 have their children in the US,UK,Canada,Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Most of these have already or are in the process of making those countries their permanant homes. It is time the nation is provided the details of all such migrations. It is important that this country should not have such bureaucrats in important decision making positions, whose children are settled/ settling abroad. These persons as such do not have any allegiance to the country which is why their children have chosen to migrate. They are a threat to the integrity of this nation.
