Because she gets a handsome royalties on Nehru and Gandhi earnings.She/Rahul yet do not own a house not even appartment, it is not a secret that they are rhe heirs of one of richest family Hira lal nehru. They donated Anand bhavan To nation. Indira/Rajiv died for the national cause not for fanily reasons.Abuse but for reason .She does not celebrate levish birthday .After all mayawati expensive jewelery comes with cost to country.

Price for SP support.
by Rajesh Vyas on Jul 14, 2008 11:05 AM  Permalink

Who thought that this support was going to be for free. A lot of unreasonable demands like dropping all the cases against Mulayam, Amitabh (IF ANY), Penalising Mukesh Ambani. etc will be made in addition to sacking Mayawati--An elected leader.

Also, do not be surprised, if Sonia and Comapny obliges Mulayam, Amar Singh and company. Do we not remember the sacking of N T Rama Rao during the Indira Gandhi years and a humiliating reversal of the sack?

Congress are old masters at this toppling and defection (READ HORSE TRADING) game.

its only an anti congress statement of an anti congressman, only an allegation or an expectation from one of the anti congressmen camp. And a pro maya supporter! The writer forgets everything against her.Or tries to explain all the Inquiries or the accused mis governing are only to dethrowne Maya from power! Its shame to support a lady who evokes communal feelings amoung the people ,we saw it clearly when she told about musleem people, who will isolate SP if it support Nuclear Deal!!

UP Politics
by Badri N Raizada on Jul 14, 2008 11:02 AM  Permalink

In all this murky politics where will the Nation and its people be? silent sufferers? They will never forgive the Congress or the SP.Hence it will be suicidal for congress to even think of it.

Voters Are Most Corrupt, Break Up UP
by san man on Jul 14, 2008 10:58 AM  Permalink

It's ultimately the voters who are the biggest villains in this mess of corruption. The masses only want to vote along caste lines, and don't care anything about ethics themselves. Mayawati is a fat pig herself, and only wants seize resources from the Centre. Congress is is corrupt and led by the mafia queen - no wonder Sonia and Mayawati don't get along. Best to break up Uttar Pradesh, since it was always an artificial state whose groups don't get along. Why prolong a bad marriage. Break up that state, and let its people live happier lives separately.

even a baby can see that mayawati has made crores of money which is impossible for someone like her to make. so she must have misused her position. it does not matter who is at the center. the CBI should nail her so that an example is made which will deter future politicos from misusing their poower.

can you honestly name politicians who have not amassed wealth when they were in power?names like Kamaraj can be only a very few.The CBI is very efficient when it goes after nonpolitical criminal cases. But when it comes to cases involving politicians in power at the centre, the matter seems to drag on and on;Bofors case, for example. The disproprotionate assets case against Mayawati, surprisingly, may earn her sympathy with the voters,if pursued vigorously at this juncture.People will only interpret the vigour of the CBI as motivated, keeping the new political equations in mind.

Whatever be the ostensible trigger, the eruption of communal violence seems almost certain.
by hanif muhammed on Jul 14, 2008 10:55 AM  Permalink

What does this mean? Mr. Nazarwala thinks that a chief minister cannot contain communal violence? The police force is useless? While I am a centrist I cannot condone usage of communal tactics. Then it becomes all the more easier for right wing parties to assert their being 'right'
