Tailpiece says it all!
by Kumar M on Jul 14, 2008 09:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

That explains everything.

There are number of netas who have criminal record. If they are in jail (not out on bail), then why are they voting? The system is strange.

On the other hand, what has CPM done for the country? Agitations and hartals?

Honourable Member of Parliament
by Sheetal Kaur on Jul 14, 2008 07:26 PM  Permalink

The first step taken by any party weather it is in power or not is to terminate the membership of any Mp or member of the party that dishouners the party in any manner.
REMEMBER THAT THE PARLIAMENTARIANS ARE THERE TO MAKE RULES AND LOOK AFTER THE WELL BEING 0OF PUBLIC AND THE NATION AT LARGE.
If these members abuse there status then there is nothing honorable about them, they are the first citizens of the nation and should set examples for rest to follow.
if the cant practice what they preach then they are not fit to run the country.
In this case all are accused of murder and are in jail. so what is honorable about them. even if they are released from the jail they should not be allowed to stand in the voting and should resign better still sacked from the party as it happens in the rest of the democratic world.
But then this is India a country of criminals run by criminals.

Nation puts the same question
by mallaiah anchoori on Jul 14, 2008 07:10 PM  Permalink

The same question put by Chakravarthy, the minister o Wast Bengal is going to be raised by the entire nation very rightly. The left parties have no answer than to gulp their own saliva.

As for Somnath's continuance as speaker or not is concerned, constitutionally speaking- "Yes", he could since the office of speakership is above politics and it is the entire house that elected him.But morally speaking-"No" since his entry into parliament is owing to his having been elected on party ticket and NOT as an independent.

Murdering the aspirations of a nation
by Charan Singh on Jul 14, 2008 06:35 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Mr. Shenoy, although well trained in the art of sarcasm, would have done better to study texts of wisdom like Gita (if that is not his preferred religion, i am sure other religions proffer similar philosophy). Dr. Manmohan Singh
and party chilef Sonia, have chosen to take the tough path...so as to bring progress to the nation...they could easily have made MMS resign and make Pranab Mukh. PM...but no...finally we have leadership which will sacrifice their political gains and alliances, so that what is good for the nation is not sacrificed. Unholy alliances? alliances with people in jail. I say, go right ahead...it is better than murdering the aspirations of a billion people (minus left).

from your analysis, seems you are very concerned that they were sent to the jail in the first place...

as far as gita is concerned, in the same gita krishna has extolled arjuna to wake up to reality and punish the wicked...

POOR PM.
by trideep marwaha on Jul 14, 2008 06:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I fail to understand whether Sri-Sri Amar singh is coming to save the deal or the govt. If the implementaion of the deal (if it is thru in Parliament) is going to take months, then PM & party would be dancing on SPs drum for months. Further the SP & party shall mint that amount of money what they would not have minted during there 5years in UP Power. So in power or not, politicians mint money. We the people of this country are born to suffer and to be looted by our own elected people.
