Re - From jail to bailing out Dr Singh!
by ashok b on Jul 14, 2008 02:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If iam correct, Hon.MP's are not allowed to vote if they are convicted for more than 2 years. Can't we not have laws for automatically disqualify MP's who are sentenced and hence not effectively represent their constituencies ?
Dr.B.Ashok

Nice article. All the 5 honourable(?) MPs are from UP and Bihar where the men and women are slaughtered everyday. And still the politicians shout on top of voice for a few bhaaiyas beaten in Maharashtra.

Because lawlessness prevails in certain reasons, do you think that people from that region should be beaten up in other regions of the same country?

Be proud that you are Marathi. And let Marathis be proud because of you. Don't write irresponsibly.

Mr. Sunit please let me know who conducted rites that UP faced every year in congress regime. It is so easy & i guess fashionable to call Modi by all names, but can any state of india match the development of Gujrat. Talking of rites can any of you Modi haters explain why Lucknow faces the Shia Sunni rites every year. Face tha facts man Modi wins elections becuae he is good.

Mr. Ramanathan,

The real people responsible for killing innocents are the so-called secularists, who have nothing to do with real secularism by the way. They vitiated the atmosphere with their lies about there never having been a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on the disputed land. What could have been a smooth transfer of the site to Hindus was transformed into a violent struggle.

Take the high moral ground that MAnhohan always claims!!
by Jaisekhar Nair on Jul 14, 2008 02:24 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Manmohan Singh has always been called a decent & honourable man even by his opponents & the media. He has already spent the major part of his term being a spineless puppet manipulated by Sonia and browbeaten by the Left and the UPA's various allies. This is the first time, he has shown some spine or fighting spirit. Manmohan, if he wants to take the high moral ground should not sek the support of these "Honourable" jailed MPs to survive the confidence vote. However, I bet that the Congress will cynically use these votes to cling on to power!

Well narrated
by Vijay Kishor Shukla on Jul 14, 2008 02:21 PM  Permalink

A well narrated column.
The dilemma of a common voter is much greater than, Dr. Singh or Rahul Gandhi. Whom do you vote for in the next general election, which is the ideology that one needs to back. In a time when the political parties them selves do not know if they can back their own ideology in surviving the vote of confidence.
Oh !! the repeated referral to "Honourable" is ultimate in sarcasm.
