I agree with you that the left is enjoying, but certainly the N deal is not good. see the US discussed the N deal in their Congress and with the Senate. Here the government not at all ready to discusss about the N deal. cant you understand something is wrong...second after India signing the N deal the US Congress have rights to reject the deal..but the same is not with the Indian Government.

In Indian Parliament, people do not debate they accuse each other, shout and throw chairs. A bit different from US. US legislators are mostly educated attorneys, here many of them are not even educated. It is the same way in these forums. How many people are discussing the deal on issues and how many on party loyalty. SO do not compare the two.

Surrender of India
by Dipak Bose on Jul 12, 2008 03:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The UPA Government has led India into a binding commitment that has little to do with the production of civilian nuclear energy and everything to do with bringing us within the restrictive framework of nuclear non-proliferation. The 'deal' is not about liberating India from the clutches of wayward oil-producing nations and the vagaries of fossil fuel, but binding us to the interests of the non-proliferation lobby and the business interests of the nuclear power industry.

Why a handful of communists in India worries so much on the civilian nuke-deal ? Does it hurts you so much ? What's the reason? We, India faced many sorts of American negative attitudes after independence, including some sanctions after the 2nd Nuke Test triggered by Vajpayee. India could sail through all these bad waters. Let's be optimistic. We try to fight whenever needed (but not always like the lefts parties).

Because,it is total surrender to US....The Government is not ready to discuss about the N deal in the Parliment...the same is discussed in the US Congress and their Senates. After the successfully Operationalised the N Deal, india will increase the Nuclear Power with only 3% for that the Indian government spending 50,000 Crore...? Presently we are generating 5% of Power by Wind Energy with the cost of 600 Crore only....and there is a reason to oppose the deal....123 HIDE ACT...why the government not ready to discuss about the deal in the Lok Sabha

Why India could not go into the Wind / Solar / Hydro / energy etc... all these years and become self sufficient in power ? The govt did not allow any private companies for large scale investment in the energy sector, Why? The reforms in power sector initiated by the Central Govt is not complied by many states including left ruled Kerala. Whey didn't the govt act in time to save the people from energy crisis? What is the problem if private players are allowed in the sector like telecom and others, instead of maintaining a monopoly in this sector ? The people are suffering from Power cuts, interruptions, voltage fluctuations and so on... plus additional surcharges & surcharges. Let the private players come and do the work (with govt regulations on tariffs etc..) and make energy sufficient. Let the wanted/affordable pay extra money if needed. Many of the industries, business houses, and so on.. are facing acute power shortages and goes for their own generators etc... just think what would be the actual cost of a unit of electricity produced by them based on current fuel costs. Howmuch fuel is wasted? Even in Civilian Nuke-deal, allow the private Indian Companies to invest and the govt just share 1/10th of cost if needed. The govt can save money and use it for other purposes of citizens. No need for a 50,000 crore investement by govt.

Anyhow the govt is going to spell-out details and reply to all in the coming parliament session. Wait till then. Let the left parties express t

Escape route
by bharat on Jul 12, 2008 03:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Karet & co looking for an escape route for the last four years in power with congress they ruined our ecconmy. Left was supported the congress blocking Indias progress and development which BJP led NDA created. withing four years UPA Left achieved their hidden agenda to drive India backward. Industrial growth reduced, inflation broke the roof, cost of living is unbearable life of mass indians from middlecalss and poor now end up the dead line.
Why was Left supported Congress to rule and distroy this country again. 50 years of congress rule blocked all our developments. in six years BJP led NDA shown how we can develop our nation. congress,Left and all self money making groups like lalloo robery Karuna and goons joined together to block a nationalist party which have a vision to develop india. Left oppostition to BJP is well known China doesnt like strong a Nationalist party in rule india, all Indian communist are Chinies agents and anti national traitors Left opposing N-deal and withdrawn support just because of it harm chinies interest in this region. The never dare to withdraw support for the sake of poor indians. Price rise or inflation is not a issue for them. Other day Karet said we are opposing UPA policies but continue support govt will stay until complete 5 years. Comon mans issue is not big for them only Chinies interest is bigger. People of India should give befitting lession to them in next election.

The (Left) Communists were part of the "UNHOLY PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE" (UPA), for the past 4 yrs and ruined India in every aspect. See the Economic Mess, Mis-management of the Agricultural sector and the resultant high food prices eventhough we had favourable monsoons in the past few years. Now the UPA/Congress links the crisis to Global phenomenon. What all bubbly economic news were released by the FM / Planning Commission etc.. Now that all turned to be hollow. The hyped economic boom was fully supported by the FM and occasionally he was repeating that "The Economy is in good Shape, Economic Fundamentals are all satisfactory, Indian economy is growing at --- % , Don't have to panic, Keep Calm & what not". Now the FM is quiet and at times say "It is all due to global reasons which we can't avoid". Is it that he learnt only these versus at Harward as an escape route ?
It is better for the Congress to go for a general election and let the people of India decide.

Look the Chinese are even dependent on U.S. for major technological advances. U.S. is the No.1 Trade partner of China. The U.S.Companies are getting their products manufactured in China because of low cost workforce, Non-militant workforce (they work with their mouth shut eventhough low paid & no trade union problems), acceptable infrastructure, The U.S. Companies only look to double their profits. China is inviting and needs more U.S. investment. If the U.S.Pulls out of china, they will be like another USSR. Their available technology in any field is not that much superior to the U.S. The Indian Communists goes against the Americans and their policies may be because of other motives.

If left parties know very well about congress history why they supported again? Shame less people....Lefts know very well that UPA didn't achived anything since 4years. They just need some reason to escape from responsibility as part of UPA,wether it is from outside or inside.Commies are just critics. They do not know governance, they rule with guns. Are they have any remarkable achivements in the states West Bengal and Keral to tell people or other states to follow..........

REad Veerappa Moily's recent statements about REDs. It was forthcoming general elections that necessiated this 'separation', immediaately after this they will come together in the interest of 'muslim voters'. Have you noticed turn around by 'mehbooba Mufti' after fall of Gulam nabi Azad's government. The argument extended by the PDP MP was scripted by the same merchants.

wo Enemies are Friends Now.......... God bless people of India

Two enemies, one armed with a sickle and another with a trishul, have come together despite their cadres turning Malapurram District as a battle field. No day passes without a bomb blast, stabbing, murder etc Visit Sahadevan's website to see how gruesome their visceral hatred for each other.

At least the Congress and SP differences are not this bad. The BJP and Left is an alliance that confounds the sentiments of their respective cadres

Isi't? If it is, it will be 'HISTORIC'. However, I doubt REDs can become friendly to any other political party. Well, we have been witnessing some sort of 'stockhom syndrome' reflected in Sonai's and Amar Singh's recent statements, wherein they have all praise for 'estranged REDs'.

no world consider left as a Good ally as you claimed. Left always tried to blackmail the govt. on all issues. Its only the coalition compulsion of govt. to tolerate these bunch of blackmailers so far. Bardan and RSP threatening to withdraw its support before even form the govt.
