Do we need nuclear plants ???
by Reporter on Jul 11, 2008 05:22 PM  Permalink

See the news in bbc website today. It's regarding the decommissioning of one of their nuclear plants at Sellafield.

'' Group up for £17bn Sellafield job

A consortium, including the UK's Amec, has been named as the government's preferred choice to clean up and run the Sellafield nuclear site in Cumbria.

The £1.3bn a year contract could be worth £17bn - more than the cost of the London Olympics - to Amec, Washington International and France's Areva.

A Westminster report out on Thursday claimed it could take more than 100 years to make the site safe.

It would be awarded initially for a period of five years with the potential of further extension periods to a total of 17 years. ''

It is just decommissioning. Think of the cost involved in construction and operations , fuel, potential risk of a nuclear disaster etc etc

These amounts cannot be estimated now because we dont know the price we have to pay for these services in the future because of more stringent regulations in future.

We may have to depend on international experts ( Americans !!! ) in all these activities. So there is no wonder why Americans are very much interested in helping India to meet our energy demands.

Good samaritans. Praying to God to offer them Royal suites in heaven when they leave this world & saint hood by church.

Expecting some positive & neutral criticism, and not politically biased.

US vows to fulfill its side of N-deal with China By Use of HAARP that caused 12.05.08sichian-china-quake & destroyed their nuke plant underground
by smbt on Jul 11, 2008 04:35 PM  Permalink

A high-level Chinese military source secretly disclosed last week that the recent earthquake in Sichuan Province caused a chain-reaction of explosions in the Sichuan mountain areas. The explosions destroyed Chinese army's largest armory, new weapon test bases and part of nuclear facilities including several nuclear warheads. This information is considered China's top military secret. After the earthquake, Chinese authorities had ignored the disaster victim's initial calls for help. Only after the first critical 72 hours had passed did the authorities allow international aid to be delivered to the disaster region. Military analysts believe that this delay occurred because Mianyang City of Sichuan Province is one of important areas for the Chinese military nuclear industries and also its largest armory. The Chinese regime did not want potential spies from the outside world in this very sensitive military area during a time when there may have been a nuclear accident.

Prakash Karat has a new spokesman - L K Advani !
by Kris on Jul 11, 2008 01:22 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Left wing daily 'The Hindu' has L.K. Advani's picture and an exclusive interview splattered all over its front page today. Advani says 'he has never seen so much despair in people' and the deal is "surrender of our strategic autonomy" in our foreign policy.

Now what is meant by "'strategic automomy' in foreign policy"? What nonsense is that? The only thing that we need to be aligned to is with our national interests.

Why is Advani increasingly sounding like Prakash Karat? With right wing parties like this, do we need the left parties?

Because the deal prevents India from testing nuclear weapons for the next 40 years while Pakistan and China can continue to test nuclear weapons and make advanced bombs.

nuclear deal
by moti on Jul 11, 2008 01:03 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

the excuses given against the deal are: 1. US bullies evrybody 2. Our millitary rights are at stake. 3. our politicians pursuing the deal are selling out the nation. 4. we shall be enslaved by US 5. US is anti islamic etc... My question is, what harm has US done to us in last 60 years. when did it bullied us. my second question is how can i justify struggle of US against iran, iraq, afghanistan etc as anti islamic? does it mean that some shivshankar having dispute against some ibrahim would be treated as anti-islamic ? On the contrary afghanistan, pakistan and bangladesh are proving out to be sources of constant harm to we indians, be we hindu or muslim or christian or boudh. The millitant attacks in india supported by these declared islamic nations kills ram and rahim wrecklessly.
