N-DEAL
by GMZ Ahsan on Jul 11, 2008 09:49 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Indian MPs have by & large joined together in crises & acted in favour of national interest. Let us hope Congress gets required support to continue work for the good of people. Meanwhile, cut the power supply & remove generator sets of CPI & BJP offices & residences

Nuclear Deal
by Paul Mahendra Francis on Jul 11, 2008 09:48 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its time that all political parties opposing the nuclear deal , particularly the BJP, come out with a public statement that the deal is against the interest of the nation hence they cannot support the UPA government on this issue. This commitment should be remembered by our countrymen especially at the time of general elections next year and citizens should cast their votes in all sincerity for the party who support their views in the national interest.

Congress shudn't be allowed to get credit
by Nitin on Jul 11, 2008 09:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We will bring the govt. down.. Rediff, we urge you to support us!

Now this IAEA darft sounds good, I know. When BJP comes to power, we will enter into N-Deal agreement with so many other countries on the basis of that agreement. Then BJP will finally get all the credit! We can forget abt Hyde act and US legislations fully also then! No issues in using this text as a basis of trade with other countries!

Now the contentious agreement is out for all to go through, the contention of BJP must stand resolved and BJP can make up its minds to bail out the government as they too are feeling the pinch of early election in the country.

RE:Numbers game on
by All Right on Jul 11, 2008 09:36 AM  Permalink
Right you are Gurudutt.

Even if the government falls, there is no respite to knickerwallahs and commies

1. In whole of South India, BJP will find it difficult to open its account. This despite BJP forming the government in Karnataka last month. A Congress-JDS tieup gives them 55% vote share, adequate to ensure a complete white wash for the BJP who would lose their 18 seats. The DMK alliance sits pretty and AIADMK will certainly not enter into a pre-poll pact with the BJP. Chandra Babu Nadu will do the same, tying up with the Left. In Kerala, the BJP is a non-player.

2. BSP cannot likewise enter into a pre-poll pact with BJP because to protect its Muslim votes. So the BJP is destined to third place at best - losing 15 seats it currently holds.

3. In MP, Orissa, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan, the BJP governments faces huge anti-incumbency. Accordingly expected to lose significant seats it currently holds.

This is only a short list. So except for small states like Delhi, Haryana etc, there is no space for the BJP to makeup its loses, leave alone forge ahead from its current tally.

The Left is in a similar predicament. It is poised to get completely white washed in Kerala (where it now holds 20 seats). In West Bengal it is expected that TMC-Congress tieup will make a huge dent.

So except for their public posturing, both BJP or Left do not want immediate elections

Dear Mr.Gurudutta, the contentious clauses turned-out to be more contentious now and expecting the NDA to bailout this government is expecting too much. On the other hand, does this be accepted by the Congress, a life-line from a rank communalist outfit, NDA!!!!
