WE LOVE TO LIVE ON SLOGANS AND SHY AWAY FROM REAL ISSUES
by RAJ on Jul 11, 2008 04:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Is the Nuclear issue, the most burning issue to be addressed by a nation of 1 Billion people ( out of which 600 Million ( double the population of US) is living on less than one dollar/day)

When the inflation is sky rocketing, infrastructure in doldrums, education system is
crumbling, food security is in danger, our PM and the whole government has been spending all energy for the last 4 years on an one point agenda , NUCLEAR TREATY.

The whole Middle class have been wooed in this slogan as if once we sign this treaty we will become a Super power or developed country tomorrow.

Our governments have been misguiding with such slogans for the last 60 years and we have no goverment to address the critical issues like:

1. Crumbling education system , especially the school education.
2. The underdeveloped infrastructure ( nuclear energy can maximum give only 8% of our use in maximum capacity)
3.Modernisation of Agriculture and food security
4.Administrative reforms to reduce corruption

Instead the whole government machinery, the whole English media, the middle class, have been spending all energy on an one point issue as if, if we dont sign this treaty, we will be doomed to be in hell.

God save my birth place

Extremely well said RAJ.
Very important observations are highlighted by you and we hope if our MMS and ALL political parties with their democratically elected representatives(who are doing nothing)can read this.
I think if a printout of these observations along with some more inputs are circulated in the media will help in a long way to wake up our politicians and increase awareness in general public.

typical chaddi knicker supporters, nuclear deal is not the solution for all problems, but it is a part of solution for India's energy needs. Without adequate energy input, Indian economy will degrade further.

Excuse me..

Insfrastructe improvement / Modernization.. etc etc .. cant come without sufficient power.

Power is the need of the hour ..In near future
when oil resources (in gulf) will be washed away.. the need for power will increase multi fold..

And how is Nuclear deal effecting inflation..
Can't we control inflation and have nuclear deal at the same time..??

When people are ready to pay higher for the
same item the price will definitely rise.

The higher inflation in india is mostly attributed to increasing divide in the society

In 1991 also there was a similar opposition
when Manmohan sigh opened up indian market.

Shame on you BJP
by John on Jul 11, 2008 04:42 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If there is one party which will suffer the most from this N-Deal tamasha, it is the BJP.
Let's face it. The Congress is weak, but well intentioned. The Communists are traitors, and have been so for the last 60 years.
But the BJP?
They were supposed to be the 'Iron' Party of India, who stood up for this country.
Now they have let the whole country down in acynical opposition to a deal which would have made India strong and prosperous.
All for one man.
All so that Advani, finally at the age of 80, becomes PM by bringing down Manmohan Singh.
Like I said, history will not be kind to BJP.

J. Nehru was 85 when he was in active politics. Indira Gandhi got killed, but people are young. See congress minister swamy his hands and legs are non-functional but he is a minister. Advani is far more intellect than anybody. He is more qualified than any Nehru-Gandhi family membes. His hindi is better than Laloo and Mulayam. His political correctness is known till white house. He is mobile not sedantary.
