Like Jainism, Buddhism, Vaishnavism, Saivism, Shaktism, etc, Sikhism is just another Religion of India. The Original is Sanathana Dharma represented even today by Smarthaism.
Marxist historians called some of them Sects. And Some of them Minority Religions. Sikhism is just another religion of Sanathana Dharma. Sikhs were not born out of thin Air.

First of all, let it be clear that Sikhs were naturally drawn from Hindus by Guru Nanak. And to add to TheOneAndOnly's history knowledge, I have the following (though compiled from other history sources)-
Bulle Shah a very renowned and respected Sufi Saint said:
"Na kahun ab kee, na kahun tab kee, agar na hote Guru Gobind Singh, to sunnat hoti sab kee."
I talk about neither yesterday nor tomorrow; I talk about today. Had Gobind Singh not been there, They would all be under Islamic sway.
Had Guruji's younger sons been pressurized into accepting Islam today Hindustan would not be a Hindu majority.
What I am asserting is that without Sikhs, the story would have been very different on the Indo-Gangetic plains.
It would have been the same story as in:
1.) Hindu Kingdoms of Afghanistan 2.) Hindu Kingdoms of Java 3.) Great Civilisation of Ancient Persia pre Islamic Arab Invasion 4.) Cradle of Civilisation Babylon/Mesopotamia pre Islamic Arab Invasion 5.) Ancient Christian Civilisation of Asia Minor pre Islamic Turk Invasion 6.) Were or were not Sikhs Critical asset north of the Vindhyan range. Could Indian Civilisation north of vindhyan range had survived without Sikhs? Many North Indians will say Sikh contribution was critical - Only Hindus from Haryana & Gujarat would strongly disagree (primarily due to the influence of Arya Samaj). Why the rediff has made this headline !What's wrong with Advani going to meet his associates and colleauges !But if the idea is that every body know that RSS /BJP/VHP r one then every one knows about this group as being one ! But VHP being also there causes some confusion atleast for Congress -because it gets exposed !Dr.Karan singh also once the president of VHP being not there !Why ! This also proves that Congress is the surrogate mother of RSSBJP! So why many congress leaders who r also VHP members not there !Or VHP has now become totally politically aligned with RSSBJP! So Congress has stolen the "national interest" slogan from BJP . Vote for Congress if you care for "national interest" and the rest are all anti-nationals who care for their ideology more than the nation. In the end RSS - will tell Advani to support the deal in "national interest"
What ever be his huddle or muddle, BJP&NDA will not be pardoned if they do not support the government on this deal as its nitty gritty are already explained and doubts cleared. If there are some proceedura errors, the government of the day must be briefed and adviced not to commit in future.

This country is in dark as far as Nuke deal is concerned. If at all this happens will not be of much benefit to india, because the cost of producing power from this at current prices would b at Rs. 8.00 Per Unit and earliest India could get nuke power is by 2020 because that is the time the country will get reactors and will be able to produce power. To the best of knowledge by 2020 this power will be costing Rs. 25.00 considering inflation. In any case this power will not be cheaper by any means. So once again congress is fooling this country in the name of nuke deal
