I feel sorry for the guys who makes loose talk on this forum.. Grow up guys, we are not going for the nuke deal for the energy requirements of today, its for the future, so that future generations will be saved from the over dependence on oil. On and off for PM being week and all, it was the same PM, then as FM who rescued our nation from the brink of economic collapse in early 90s, even though there was an able administrator in PVR to back him, but still MMS was the architect, and after 15 yrs when people started enjoying the fruits sowed by MMS then, everyone was going gaga over him. Its true peoples memory are short, and so when the inflation has gone up now, all complaints the PM is weak or his policies are wrong. It doesnt matter for those guys who get a chance to write over here, understand that, even these are the indirect benifits from the changes made by MMS and the then PM. This is another path breaking change our leadership is bringing, and everyone knows its only for the good of the nation. there will be always detractors, and that is the beauty of the democrasy, but it shouldnt be just for the sake of opposing. I dont have any high opinion for the communists, as they were the ones who opposed introduction of computers in the country, and history has made them a laughing stock, and now on nuclear deal, down another 10 20 years, they will have to eat there pie for opposing this, as this is the future, we do have to change with times.

Russia has proposed as an alternative to the Indo-US deal but the Indian news media is silent about it.
In 1974, USA has imposed sanctions so that India cannot get any nuclear related materials or technology. After 1998 USA has imposed more sanctions on India so that it cannot get any defense related technology or materials at all. However,India since 1974 has received every nuclear technology, and materials including conventional nuclear power plants, Fast Breeder reactors, reprocessing and enrichment plants and heavy water plants from the Soviet Union and Russia without any restrictions attached to these. As a result, India is nearly self-sufficient regarding nuclear technology.
The real issue is whether India needs any US assistance at all regarding its nuclear energy sector. Only for the last two years, because of its membership of the NSG, Russia now wants to supply on-shore nuclear power plants with added safeguards that the plants cannot be used to produce any nuclear weapons. However, at the same time, it has offered offshore nuclear plants to India, which would be outside the jurisdiction of any restrictions of the NSG or IAEA. India can have both or either of the on-shore or offshore nuclear power plants from Russia. Even if India needs nuclear power plants to supplement it energy requirement in future, India does not need nuclear power plants from USA. Russia can still supply whatever India needs at a much lower price.

IN THE 1971 INDO PAK WAR...USA SENT 2 NUCLEAR SHIPS TOWARDS INDIA THREATING INDIA THAT THEY WILL BOMB INDIA WITH NUCLEAR BOMBS IF INDIA DID NOT WITHDRAW FROM PAKISTAN..IN RESPONSE TO THESE USA THREATS ..USSR SENT 4 NUCLEAR WARSHIPS TOWARDS THE USA ONES....USA SEEING THIS QUICKLY TURNED BACK... I had the confusion of my lifetime today, when watching TV channels. They talked about our PM Manmohan Singh meeting the President in several contexts, making the decision to go to IAEA, etc. Everytime Manmohan meeting the President came up, I got confused as to WHICH PRESIDENT? If he had to get a decision to go to IAEA, he has to meet PRESIDENT BUSH (who is able to kick Manmohan in his behind and ask him to fax the agreement to IAEA right from Japan). Sometimes, he meets PRESIDENT PATIL, to tell her that he is still the Prime Minister. I knew that the Italian Sonia and her puppet Manmohan were out to sell our country, but I never that it would be done so unabashedly, so arrongantly, so deceitfully, by telling LIES TO THE PEOPLE AND THEIR SUPPORTERS, ETC., ETC. DOWN WITH THE ITALIAN SONIA AND HER PUPPET MANMOHAN..
