RE:The Message from the Messengers of GOD (Moses, Jesus,.. Muhammed)
by Ganapathi ps on Jul 11, 2008 08:49 AM  Permalink
To say that human beings are slaves of God does not sound correct. It is more appropriate to say that God is our friend who loves us most and we too are His friend and we love Him too. The slave and Master relationship is outdated and does not fit in with modern times. A slave will always be afraid of his Master and where there is fear there is no love. God Himself manifests among human beings in the form of a messenger to show them the right path and to protect righteousness from time to time says the Bhagavath Geetha. The holy books and prophets of all religions must be respected and revered as they show the humanity the right path. We must also be open minded and learn good things from all the books and religions.

Why does God need so many massengers? One would have been enough. God has confused everybody. Can't he/she/it/or whatever just show up one day. Won't you like to see--I would.

Nuclear Deal
by saambha on Jul 11, 2008 06:59 AM  Permalink

The essence of nuclear deal is to make sure that India continues on the path of high economic growth. High economic growth is directly tied to the availability of energy. Currently, we are dependent on oil and as the recent spike in oil prices indicate, this source of energy is not only costly, its availability cannot be guranteed. Most people know that oil will not last for infinity and many nations are gearing up to end their dependence on oil. This is what India is aiming for.
Nuclear power is a long term strategy for India, well thought out by the Prime Minister. He is the same guy who had the vision of economic liberalisation (although he was also forced due to the then dire conditions). I personally do not doubt his intentions behind the deal. We will realize the importance of this deal in the years to come. Not only does this gives us more muscle in world affairs, it ensures we have a viable alternative to oil and the bullying of opec. As far as left is concerend, they are the same guys who shouted murder after the 1991 liberalisation. They need to understand that their 1960s ideology needs to keep up with the times.

P.M.should have indicated a definite date
by mallaiah anchoori on Jul 11, 2008 06:49 AM  Permalink

It is good that P.M.on his own, before being told formally or allowing them to resort to moving a no confidence motion, has opted for seeking a vote of confidence,of coure-at the earliest,a vague thing which gives room for all sorts of guess work & casting naturally all aspersions expected of any opposition party. In stead,he should have given a definite date in the absence of which it could be safely concluded that they want to woo all the susceptible members of parliament of other opposition/ neutral parties & determine/bargain the cost of their support. The horse riding begins now.If the indications of any date after 22nd for the purpose holds any water,it could be any length of time-beyond 12 days. Now again the ball is in the court of the president who should be agreeable to what Dr Singh told.Since president is a candidate of the Congress party,in all probability, and by the fact of issuance of a notification to the effect of what the P.M.told her,it coud be safely concluded that the proposal of Dr.Singh is okayed by her.The opposition parties-especially BJP will not wait for such long;it is keen on allowing least time to Congress on this count. It is,however, but natural for any opposition in such circumstances as more the time allowed, longer the rope, they feel, they would be giving for manipulations.
Needless to say,It is time for all the cats sitting on the wall to bargain & earn since all of them want to make hay while the sun is shining. No salvation for Indian politics!

Lets be realistic about of where we are at now!!
by anand kondaguli on Jul 11, 2008 05:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Lets be practical and ask ourselves,"As Indians to date how many innovations we have? ", I am sure all of us look for answers but do not find substantial.Accept US/Europe/Japan/Austarlia,the innovations from remaining part of the world is minimal.India and China like other dev countries are good at copying, when this is the reality let us also accept that US and thier allies are the most greatest power on earth. In the wake of the above background what's wrong if we go ahead with this deal and secure to an extent our energy requirment? When one day we become the developed country (if our politicians allow and our future gen decides so) we can run our country on our own term.
Irrespective of parties, our politicians I am sure,listen-speak-do differently. The bottomline deal would be pushed through in any case, amidst the big drama!!

Anand ( I hope this is your real name),

do you read scientific journals? Pick up any you want, and look for Indian names ( Of course Muslim names can be from other countries also) just check the Hindu names.

You will not be writing this trash again ( if you have any shame).

Mr Sameer, having our names on the journals is one thing and application of that in our life is another thing. Indian scientists publish many; but not even 0.01 percent of that is implemented. 7 years ago I has read about a super efficient solar panel developed by IISc. This was 30% more efficient that thet the leading panels that time. There is no trace of it now. Sometimes I feel like barging into IISc and enquire about it.
The most hopeless is the Congress govt, who just hangs on to the power. Tell me, why we haven't encouraged indigenous technology in the energy sector til today? It is because of the oil lobby, which gives sufficient kickbacks in different forms. RIL has no right to export oil. Why still it does? What is happening to the sea wave electricity, wind energy, solar energy plans, which were initiated towards end of 70s? Still no progress. European countries have formed a National Grid with facility of microgeneration. This is nothing great; but still we won't implement because our politicians do not want to spend time thinking about it. It is extremely frustrating sometimes.

The reason is simple. For a plant to grow, you need an environment. India still does not provide an environment to stimulate innovation and grow. Democracy has made things difficult as majority of the poor and uneducated people still vote for the immediate gains thus electing bad leaders.
Things are changing. Rememeber, effects of hundreds of years of slavery would take time to be wiped off

Anand:

While most of what you say is substantially correct, I would still await (based on the media "rumors" floating around) India's Throrium based reactors to become mainstream.

According to what we hear, THAT will be some innovation, innit?

All the best.

N-Deal: In Rabit & Turtle Race in the end Turtle Won.
by Amit Arora on Jul 11, 2008 04:55 AM  Permalink

N-Deal: In Rabit & Turtle Race in the end Turtle Won.
Turtle: Dr.Manmohan Singh
Rabit: Left,BJP

I am in a big setback after knowing that BJP is not supporting N-Deal.
Is BJP is doing this only because of opposition party.
Now i feel guilt to support BJP blindly from last 20 years.
