For nuke deal, even horse trading is acceptable
by Huzaifa Najmi on Jul 10, 2008 07:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If it means getting nuke deal through, I really dont think any indian including me will mind even horse trading. As it is apart from the nuke deal, a 6 month extension of power isnt a great thing to do horse trading for. They may actually have to pay a big price for a 6 month period support.

Advani fears horse trading, prefers early trust vote.
by MADAN KAPOOR on Jul 10, 2008 07:33 PM  Permalink

Even if there is, BJP has no right to accuse of 'Horse Trading'. Hasn't BJP done so in the past. Also it is on record that in 2007 BJP tried toppling UPA Govt by promising Prime Ministership to S.P.'s Mulayam Singh to seek support for its candidate Bhairon Singh Shekhawat for Presidentship. Was it not 'Horse Trading'.

The pity is BJP cannot swallow that a deal of which BJP would have boasted has been bagged by Manmohan Singh.

I read the IAEA safeguards agreement
by Chaliya on Jul 10, 2008 07:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is a totally benefiting agreement for India. Any guy can check it out as it is on the net. Also, it clearly differentiates India's activity in civil and millitary nuclear technology development. This safeguards is only for civil nuclear fuel development. Those who are opposing it are just plain dumb or ignorant of the text of the agreement.

dumbos, read the news properly.
Its the stupid Congress that said it is highly confidential and kept it in secrecy, else it would lead to nuclear terrorism. Later, when an American website made it public, it released the agreement.

Greedy Advani
by Nazir Ahmed on Jul 10, 2008 07:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What a sense does prevail in Advani and how greedy he is looking for PM's chair, without thinking of the benefits we expect to have from nuclear deal with usa.I think Advani may not go mad if not seeing singh destabilised.I appeal to this man to extend every nature of support to Singh so that he succeeds in having nuclear deal done.Hope Advani do it without making hue and cry to ask for parliamentry confidence and let Singh to complete his term and afterwrds play the game of election.

My dear Akshay
USA is a country of selfish and mean leaders, always thinking in thier own terms having never been our friends and even not hope so.But if we get a chance to yeild benefits(may be strategic, developemental or constructive)out of this nuclear deal,my dear to leave this upportunity. In this context Advani should have come forward and seconded the deal.

Advani's allegations
by V K Nair on Jul 10, 2008 07:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is the practice of the opposition led by Advani to call everything that the Ruling Party does as anti-national. What his party did at Karnataka? What his party did with Babri Masjid? What about his own contradictory statements at various places? What about his senseless revelations in his book? The government must go ahead with the nuclear deal at all costs.
