He needs to look at Karnataka
by Kumar M on Jul 10, 2008 06:36 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Advaniji needs to look at Karnataka before saying anything. BJP has grabbed MLAs from CONgress and JD(S). If that is not horse trading, what is it?

Congress party brought down BJP's govt in 13 months without any reason, after that also can't make the govt, country goes to poll within two years. BJP govt's nuclear test also not supported by Congress. Now the want support from BJP for N deal. Why should BJP support sense less Congress?

Horse trading is what is done after elections, not before elections. Please understand that!

Inflation may be a global phenomenon. But Internal security is very much a national issue. Terrorist incidents during NDA rule can be counted with a single hand, but during UPA rules, u need more than 4 hands. Not even a single case where the criminals were arrested. (Atleast Afzal Guru was arrested by NDA).

Dear Reddy garu

Just becoz u think that BJP is good and will surely win the elections, it will not happen. Be practical before commenting.

Even if the trust vote is tomorrow, the UPA will surely win it becoz of the below

INC - 153
SP - 39
RJD - 24
DMK - 16
NCP - 11
PMK - 6
JMM - 5
LJSP - 4
MDMK - 2
RLD - 3

RPI

Total - 264. Apart from these, Majlis, Muslim League, PDP, SDF, MNF, BNP and 3 independents have confirmed their vote. This makes it 273 which is more than the majority mark.

Also, the JDS, TRS, NC, KEC, NPF and other independents are likely to vote for the UPA and these will add to another 14 votes. Even if 7-8 MPS of SP vote against, the UPA will still win the trust vote and last its full term.

If u r talking of Congress buying the independent MPs, what do u say about the buying of more than 10 MLAs in Karnataka so far.

Probably Advani can depute the Reddy brothers and Sreeramulu in Delhi to do the bargain with the MPs and then the UPA is surely going to fall.

Nobody can beat the Reddy brothers & Sreeramulu combine in wooing and buying politicians. Such is their capacity that they can even make all UPA MPS vote against themselves. These guys have surely set new standards when it comes to horse trading proving that BJP is a party with a difference.

Six PMK MPs will vote against the government whikch they have already clarified. There is fissures in SP and only God knows how many will come out and vote against the government. But there is no harm in dreaming by all congress supporters.

Rahul Baba is fact hoping that they do not win elections so that he could have a peaceful marriage-cum-honeymoon with his Videshi Girl friend so that stage can be set for an encore of Sonia Amma a good 25-30 years later.

What kind of analysis is this? on what basis are you saying that the deal is beneficial? Read the N-agreement, especially now that the draft IAEA safeguards agreement is out. The nuke deal is good provided we also ensure India's interests for security. BJP has raised valid points against the N deal and if we are able to address them, ONLY THEN is the deal beneficial. However, UPA and MMS have been trying to avoid those critical issues and are out there trying to close the deal whether our interests are met or not. That is stupid and will be disastorous for India considering our neighbours such as china and pakistan.

Do not comment blindly please and out of emotion. It is not an advani issue, it is a national issue.

Advani's coments on Horse Trading
by SR Hari on Jul 10, 2008 06:26 PM  Permalink

While his views may be appt and correct, what can stop all this? This situation is true to any ruling party and bargaining is part and parcel of governance. It is an open secret that many appoitments - from ministers to the babus will change in the coming days. And we can't expect Madam Pratibha to antogonise Madam Sonia. This Govt will survive the trust vote.
