by ASHIM MUKHERJEE on Jul 10, 2008 05:40 PM  Permalink

we do not oppose the deal.we know that the present govt.always works for the benefit of Indians.why does the govt. hesitate to disclose the conditions of the deal.this doesn't relate to any defense movement which should be kept secret from us after all this deal, as the govt. claims, is for our welfare, there should not be any hesitation in disclosing every detail.otherwise....... doubtful

Let them government of India stop the August, 20, 2008 National strike called by Comrades and instruct suitably to concerned state government also. Already Supreme court was conveyed in this regard during Tamil Nadu government called general strike for sethusumdar project. Though comrade have a idea that they will not going to loose any seats if the elections held immediate or later stage.

At the same time UPA should Finance Minister and Petroleum Minister immediate from the cabinet who are main culprit for non-controlling of price rise and escalation of inflation every week. Tomorrow is again inflation week and our FM simply today also quoted that people should patience and it will automatically come down once oil price will be stable. Who knows it is stable or it will be going increase. Why FM is a not STOPPED Petroleum product to export because Mukesh Ambani is close to FM and government of India is getting huge amount for party. We are celebrating 60 years independence and out of which 50 years ruled by congress party but nothing has done for middle class & poor people. They are telling different story every time when they approaching the people for vote but after election and elected they started work towards rich people and business lobby. Why ? It is better this election 2009 we will teach them at any cost.

That is basic..
by Shyam on Jul 10, 2008 05:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There is no such thing like withdrawing when the Government no longer exists! In case of loss in Confidence Vote, the elected government cease to exist and a new government or a Caretaker government would be in place. The second is more likely given the situation and in that case, no policy level decision can be taken by a caretaker government. Any agreement by a caretaker government would be prima facie invalid and infructious and would not be enforceable. Whom are the Congress trying to fool anyway?

Mr.Shyam, congress is talking about putting the agreement to vote...not trust vote on majority. There are MPs outside the UPA who support the deal but do not support congress government.... with their vote, the deal may go through ...then comes a trust vote - and the government falls through...

Please type in google "Bush pushes US-India nuclear deal"
You will see more than 111,000 search results and the whole world is claiming that its George Bush who made the nuclear deal possible.
Its high time we realize that its not BJP/Congress/Communist who are after the nation, but its the US who now wants have control over India's nuclear power.
Under one of the clauses of the deal:
ndia agrees to allow inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA), the United Nations' nuclear watchdog group, access to its civilian nuclear program. But India would decide which of its many nuclear facilities to classify as civilian. By March 2006, India promised to place fourteen of its twenty-two power reactors under IAEA safeguards permanently. India also promised that all future civilian thermal and breeder reactors shall be placed under IAEA safeguards permanently.
This is the same way in which US entered Iraq, Iran, North Korea.
Moreover under one of the clauses:
U.S. companies will be allowed to build nuclear reactors in India and provide nuclear fuel for its civilian energy program.
We will be compelled to buy energy from US companies, what will the Indian companies do.

Will withdraw IAEA request if we lose trust vote: Congress
by CRR on Jul 10, 2008 05:26 PM  Permalink

I think Government not going to down, this is Lefts & Congress game. They know they have to face people with in 6-8 month. This parties are the main Rival in Kerala, Bangal & Tripura , if election come what they tell to the people . they are fighting each other in this states . after wining they sit together & enjoying power. Then they need a reason to face people & need time, so this people arrange support from S.P & withdrawn the support (first Make sure the support then they withdrawn support, not before that) . if any chance to lose left will save congress. At least it is a drama noting else. all our media will support them for this drama & make confusion on people. If you think in current situation left can will more seats. In Bangal they lose above 60% of Municipal & Local bodies, In kerala they can’t win at least 5 seats In current situation.

Only aim of this just divert the peoples hot issue - Price raise & inflation

Disclosure of IAEA text will lead to nuclear terrorism - Congress
by atanu on Jul 10, 2008 05:20 PM  Permalink

This is what we like most about Congress, such a cute child, na?

Observing that Congress spokespersons had said that making the text of the safeguards agreement public would invite "nuclear terrorism", he said "today the text is available on the site of the MEA."
