It was a RUMOUR
by Vikas on Jul 10, 2008 04:33 PM  Permalink

It was a RUMOUR propagated by Congress friendly media that SAD is going to vote for Congress.

SAD govt is actively pursuing corruption cases against Congress leaders in Punjab.

In Punjab, Congress is the direct rival of SAD.
Without support from BJP, its difficult for SAD to win seats in next parliament election.

SAD knows very well that it will be suicidal for them to support Congress.

N DEAL
by jack on Jul 10, 2008 04:33 PM  Permalink

Everybody has their own opinions about N-Deal

As per my understanding , this deal will be beneficial in near future to India to generate power and for civilian use, It’s right as per left parties this deal will not fulfill total requirement of Power/Energy India needed. Day by day our power requirement is demanding and N-Deal is one source for our requirement.

Left Parties have raised questions on N-Deal? And is saying that this deal will not be benefited to India, But I guess they are not convinced to people of India why this deal is not good for India. They have failed to explain about details. In other hands UPA Govt have also failed to explain benefit of the N-deal so common people could have understand the benefits and or any consequences of N-Deal.

People are trusting on Our Scientist & experts and as per their opinions and based on that we assume that the N-Deal is good for India and UPA Govt have taken chance and keeping in mind of india’s Interest they have taken one step towards N-Deal which is good …..

Left have removed their support from Govt and as per constitution Govt should have majority in Parliament , SP is supporting to UPA Govt. keeping mind India’s Interest WILL Parties Like BJP/SHIVSENA/ASD/BJD or others will support to Govt on this issue ??????????? OR they will keep their parties Interest FIRST…..

ManMohan's Master Stroke

The deal as its title indicates is a Civilian Nuclear Agreement. India has presently 22 reactors. The deal permits India to separate our military and civilian reactors and place the later under an inspection regime of the IAEA. India has accordingly identified 14 reactors to be under the deal. The other 8 reactors, outside the deal, permits India's military nuclear program to continue unfettered.

When India conducted Pokhran II under the NDA regime, the US reacted by constituting the Nuclear Supply Group (NSG) which presently has 45 countries as its members. For countries to engage in nuclear transactions globally, it needed a NSG waiver. Because India did not have a NSG waiver, our nuclear program in this country began to hurt. Uranium supplies, spares etc dried up and consequently nuclear power generation capacity are operating at less than 50%. This means that the thousands of crores invested by the country is not providing full value in returns. The US is the most influential member of the NSG. Without US support, no waiver is possible. So the necessity of first striking a deal with the US, which even the Chinese have entered into.

All Right,
Your posts are enlightening. Your explanations on some points are useful and rare, no one else has offered them.
But my concern is for India to be able to conduct at least two or three more "underground tests". It seems the codes collected from Pokhran II are not satisfactory. Once India has these "codes", good and clear, I am told, there would be no more need for "underground" tests. They can be worked through "computer simulations".
I think, under the is Deal there may be serious consequences if India does conduct even one more underground test.
Like you, we are all hoping that our Thorium stock can be used for both civil and military purposes and that it would be possible to do so in another ten or fifteen years time!!

Political parties have made this issue their self respect issue rather than development issue.
no body is thinking logically.. Congress is reayd to do anything to please Bush and Co.at any cost (even at the expense of nation's integrity and self respect) and Other parties are just opposing it for the sake of opposing government.
better if they all sit together and then think logically what is good for nation..they should understand that they would survive only if nation survives...

"The SAD is in favour of the deal, but this does not imply that it will vote in favour of the UPA"
Above line States we are in favour of deal but not with Congress -- clearly says even NDA also interested in N-deal.

NDA is the only party looks for the national interest irrespective of religion.
